What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

Right I was saying then the #4 must not have a ton of value even though it is a HIGH pick. We are hunting for good players with the #23... I know that pick ain't that good.

If it is Ball, Ingram, #4 I may just go into the season with AD on the roster... Kuzma should not be a deal breaker.

Yeah, it seems weak, but then again, Toronto got Kawhi and Danny Green for DeRozan, Poeltl and a top 20 protected pick.

If LA sends an additional 1st or takes back Hill or sends Hart, I think it's a pretty fair deal considering all the circumstances.

Rich Paul was pretty dang clear about NY and LA today: https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...-rich-paul-issues-warning-celtics/1429807001/

The Raptors are a perfect example of why I think that anyone who is against the idea of trading for Mike Conley should open up to it. No, Conley won't make us a championship favorite. But he doesn't have too. He undeniably gets us closer. And that's what we need. Look at the moves Toronto has made. None of the moves they made had people viewing them as possible champions. They weren't even the favorite in their own conference. People were picking Milwaukee and even Philly/Boston over them. Nobody thought they could/would win it all. But here they are up 3-2 on the Warriors, one win from a chip. If we can get Conley it makes us a better team. It puts us into a situation to strike gold if we get hot on one playoff run OR the Warriors and Rockets lose key pieces OR injuries happen. Just like we're seeing from Toronto.

If Chicago wants to give up their leading scorer then maybe that should be a red flag.

Dude is the definition of putting up stats by filling a volume vacuum and has never done **** to help a team get wins. Jazz would never consider bringing him in.

I can't decide... because he does it efficiently... he is by all accounts a hard worker... I do think a portion of it is empty calories, but he's not had a good coach or culture that would require him to play winning basketball. I wouldn't want to give up what it'd take to get him I think.

I don't see a huge difference between him and DLo… I'm not a huge fan of either. They are different players but I think if they switched spots the narrative might too.

I don't see the fit at all.

I don't know if @Handlogten's Heros D'Lo comp makes me more willing to consider Lavine, or less sure about D'Lo.

But I don't think the comparison is too off base.
What do you think of the teams/coaches/and front offices that lavine has played for?

For instance, if Donovan was on the bulls last year how much better do you think the bulls record would have been? Do you think DM would have had similar numbers as lavine if he were in Chicago last season?

Word on the street is they want an asset for Love... which is bananas. He is bad money now and will be worse every year.

I'm telling yall if we split our cap space between Bev and Rudy Gay we'd be really effing good... would also allow us to get in on trade conversations if someone has buyers remorse on Tobias, DLo, or if Kemba is retained on supermax and Hornets look to pivot. Or if Conley trade doesn't happen in the offseason and they then want to complete in season.

Love doesn't address the creation need and is not great defensively. Bev gives us some shooting and defense, but he's not creating anything. Perimeter creation is as big a need as shooting... maybe more. It just makes no sense to go after Love.

What if we got Gay AND Love? Would Utah be ready for this?

I’m too lazy to look it up but anyone know what Levine’s outside shooting is like? Can he hit the mid-range jumper? What’s his 3 point %? It’s gotta be better than Rubio’s, right? I think a DM/Levine backcourt could be nasty. But is it even possible? I guess we have nothing the Bulls would want...

Lavine = DLo = Booker = JR Smith = Ricky Davis.

I'd send out Exum in any deal for Love. Favors/Exum for Love and it keeps us operating over the cap. Though I believe we'd be sending a first rounder, it'd be nice if Cleveland gave us those two second rounders back.
Yeah do it. I think Dante has had to much bad karma with the jazz with injuries. Maybe he goes to another team and doesn't get injured and flourishes. And favs more opportunity for him as well. Favs is so good but he doesn't get the recognition in utah

Good. Exum can take over LeBron’s role of dragging that team to the finals every year.
