What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

Favors is 50/50 coming back. The Conley news I'm sure has made a few free agents reconsider some things.

50/50 seems waaay ambitious. I’d bet it’s more like 90/10 that Fav is back. Unless we have a godfather offer during the draft or both Ariza and Danny Green are beating down the door to sign with the Jazz, I just don’t see the scenario where it happens.

More than likely he comes back. I do think the Jazz make some discrete inquiries to see where the value is and, if something is there, get it done. Utah needs some depth in a general sense, so we'll see where it goes. But Conley solves a lot of issues I saw with the team. As Favors continues to extend his range, all the better.

Still need a shooters and general depth though, but nothing outright glaring. Our starting five runs with anyone at this point.

Trade Favors and Exum for Otto Porter and Valentine.

We might need a 3rd team to take Favors but that seems easy enough.

Or the dream is sign and trade those two for Tobias who demands he wants to be here.

I like that Otto Porter trade. Short of some creative trade, I really like the idea of kicking the tires on guys like Danny Green and Trevor Ariza. Luc Mbah a Moute on a vet minimum has some appeal to me too. Danuel House on the Rockets impressed some. If he becomes unrestricted, that’s another value guy that could help us a bit.

How about Favors and Exum for James Johnson and Winslow?

James would thrive in the 4 and backup 5 role for the Jazz. He is getting older but we need some vets. He is overpaid but still a solid player. This move frees up money for Miami next year and gives us a solid vet and a good upcoming young player. Maybe we could even get some pick/s out of it.

I like both of your trades.
Probably like the porter one a bit more but I really like them both. A lot

One thing to watch... if KD and Kyrie both go to Brooklyn they need to clear another 1.3m unless KD takes a paycut (has done this before). To get there they really have two feasible options...

1- Trade Joe Harris for a lower salaried player or just move him into someone's space.
2- Trade both Kurucs and Musa for no returning salary. Likely just picks.

I'd be interested in either option if I was the Jazz. I don't think we have the small assets they'd want... but just something to watch.

I really like the OPJ idea. That would be the absolute perfect balance of shooting and scoring but without demanding the ball, respectable rebounding, and defense.

Championship.

I don’t see them moving Porter... why would they want Favs and Exum?

To get porter we’d have to give at least one first and the Memphis pick really complicates that.

Would love to have OP Jr but don’t think it’s feasible.

I... like this. Good one.
