Official trade Exum and/or Bradley into cap space thread

Every article I read RAVES about Calathes. Said he’s the best player in Europe and it’s really not up for debate. Ugh my pipe dream is dumping Exum, Bradley and Niang and signing Marcus Morris and Nick Calathes.

Think I read that his new deal doesn’t have a buyout. Last year would’ve been the time to make that happen.

At the game yesterday they showed Niang, Donovan and Exum in the crowd and when they showed Dante some in the crowd started to boo and they quickly went to a shot of something else. Then they went back to Exum after a bit. Uncomfortable.

Marcus Morris is a dick. Pretty sure Mitchell, Gobert and Jingles would love him though.

I can understand why everyone who supports Exum wants to believe in his long term potential. . . but this team has a two year window to contend. I don’t think Exum helps with that.

The Jazz should be talking to Marcus Morris right now about the WIDE open PF spot.

Conley -
Mitchell - O’Neale
Bogdanovic - Jingles
Morris - Niang
Gobert - Davis

That’s a nightmare playoff rotation. Exum and Bradley don’t fit NEARLY as well as Morris does. And I personally can’t stand the guy.

Actually, we could cut the backup PG out completely. If we got Morris, let him get his 30, play Joe and Bojan the backup minutes, then let Ingles play a little SG and PG to collect the rest of his minutes.

MM or bust.

His TS% was 46.3% last season. That has to be in the bottom 2% of the league. Moves like he’s 50 now.

Correction: 53.7%. That’s not good though.

It’s average... we are talking about vet min guys... above average is getting more money. I’ll take any of the three.

Its really crazy that people want to trade the guy who guards Harden the best on the team.
How many minutes has he guarded Harden? How many minutes will he guard Harden in the future? I will agree that I was very impressed with his D in the one game that we won in Houston last year, but how accurate is that? AK completely shut out Kobe for a half. It never happened again. I’m not sure Exum has played as many minutes against Harden as AK did in that one half. Can Exum approximate that? If not, how much would it compare? If he can, how healthy will he be? Will he be able to stay on the floor?

Would I trade the “Harden stopper” for someone who makes a bigger impact at the 4 over the course of a season, like a Morris? Yes. Yes I would.

If hes only playing 15 minutes of D against Harden its worth it.

Jazz should be worried about specific match ups than they are getting another score first forward.

I just don’t see him staying healthy. I’d rather use his salary slot to add a starting level PF. Since I don’t think we can trade Exum for that caliber of player without including massive assets. . . I’d rather try to add a guy like that in free agency. Marcus Mossis would be the best option, but I’d be happy with JaMychal Green as well.

Exum has tantalizing potential, but it’s time to let another team try to realize it. Jazz should be focused on winning right now. It’s too bad it hasn’t worked out, but that’s how it goes sometimes.

If you can’t get one of those two guys. . . then keep him. If you can get one of them, it’s an easy call for me.

Morris is a score first forward?

Anyway, I mean what is the likelihood Exum is healthy to get minutes? And how sure are we that he’s that good against Harden? Nobody ever played D on Kobe the way AK did but Kobe learned after that and it literally never happened again. Not even close.

Marcus Morris is a terrible fit. The Jazz dont need another score first forward. Theh just need a tolken starter who can bit open 3s and knows who he is. That isnt Morris.

Yes lmao. Thats all he can do. He had a really hot shooting start to the season last year, bit hes been a bad shot taking baby Melo type for most of his career.
