Las Vegas SL -- Jazz v. Heat

Burke had a lot more PG skills than JFW does.

I would agree with you if we were only talking about college or 90s nba. Trey liked to pound the air out of the ball and wasn't great at making quick decisions. I think JFW is way ahead of Burke there, additionally JFW has shown a little floater that Trey didn't have when he was a Jazzman.

But they are similar in other ways...They both are small for the current era and both struggle to stay in front of their guy on dribble drives. Trey has been in the league for 6 seasons and played over 300 games. But i don't know that he will have an nba job this season.

The odds are against JWF and he has got to shoot better to give himself a chance.

I’m hoping the Jazz can still get another PF to come in and compete for solid minutes or a starting job.

Sign Oni to a 3 year deal. Brantley and JFW to two year 2 way contracts. Call one or both up down the road if they show out.

Conley - Exum - Mudiay
Mitchell - O’Neale - Min FA
Boganovic - Jingles - Oni
Min FA - Niang - Green
Gobert - Davis - Bradley

I think Green starts at PF.

It's possible that JWF could play off the ball as more of a spot-up shooter rather than a lead guard, kind of like Quin Cook played for the Warriors. He doesn't appear to be a bad spot-up shooter if he doesn't try to do too much with the ball. You'd have to have someone else, like Ingles, Mitchell or Exum really initiate the offense though.

Burke only shot 13 shots per game his rookie season to 6 apg. His problem wasnt lack of passing. It was that he couldn't create shots other than mid-range pullups at a consistent rate.

He couldn't make shots. Shot sub 40, and he couldnt get to the line.

Not getting to the line as a PG doesnt help. Non threat.

Based on the players on the floor today, I'm not sure the coaches would trust anyone that played today with any NBA minutes this fall. Naz and Cavanaugh are tearing up this competition and the coaches and front office both said sayanora to both.

Oni is playable if you don't ask him to do too much. He's like Royce O'Neale 18 months ago.

Reed more polished than Bradley.

It's a sign that VC is doing commentary for our game, we gonna sign him bruh

Vince probably wants to go to a team where minutes are a possibility. I don't think he wants to keep going through the practices and travel and just the overall schedule just to be sitting on the end of a teams bench.

I'd love for the Jazz to sign him because he's one of my all time favorite non-Jazz players. But I just don't think we have the minutes to give him with Spida, Royce, Mike and Dante in the backcourt and Bogdanovic, Ingles on the wing.

I hear you, but his 13 ppg would help our depth.

Lol at Oni deserving a contract over Brantley. From what I see is Brantley is most likely to have an nba career between him and Oni.

I get excited about Brantley in an actual nba game with nba level spacing. He has a floor game, and can create for him and others and is explosive. He really can’t do that in SL. I just hope he can improve his shot. It’s there, but pretty inconsistent at this point in his career.

Probably non-guaranteed with club options the latter part.

Oni could crack the 15; Brantley maybe gets a two way. JWF is basically Lyles 2.0.
Of the three Brantley deserves the contract the most. Lol. I’m not sure what people see in Oni, someone explain this to me. I think he can shoot, but he doesn’t shoot much and doesn’t have much skill beyond shooting, and he needs help to get his shot off or he just doesn’t want to create his own shot.
How does Oni look?

He shot well, but only took 5 shots and did nothing else. He had the second worse +/- in the game. He was a none factor.

Got hung up on a couple picks and plays a little far off guys at times. Makes some good plays and is generally solid but nba talent will show the warts a bit more. He’s good in summer league and probably fine in the nba for now... he could be really good. He’s a super nice kid... all the second round picks were really friendly as we chatted with them.

Brantley needs to unlearn a lot of bad habits. Oni is way ahead of him on that.

That's a big deal for a role player in the NBA. Both have a chance. I'm not a fan of JWF.
