The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

His tenure’s been so absurd I can’t help but wonder if he never wanted the Presidency, as has been long rumored, and has for over 2.5 years simply been saying as divisive as **** as possible in the hopes of being “fired.” But then I think, nope. Dude was equally as stupid before being elected and back on The Apprentice, the latter of which was all I needed to see to realize he was dumb as **** and would never get my vote. Nor my wife’s who’s a R.

Call me crazy, but all of this “send her back” and “Pocahontas” is a strange way of describing “economic anxiety.” @Red @Zombie what would you describe this as?

You're not crazy. The president is going to use marshaling hatred and anger as those emotions that will be the the most useful in his bid at reelection. The fact that he is willing to do this says everything about how much he actually cares about our country. He does not care how much damage he does. Of course, it's demagoguery 101. And it's the very opposite of appeals to the higher angels of our nature. He knows how effective appealing to the baser instincts can be. He could not possibly be more irresponsible, or more contemptuous of our nation and it's people. And still, the blind will remain blind.

Trump's choice of using hatred and anger to marshal those same emotions in his audience is the pinnacle of cynicism toward human nature. He knows he can manipulate his audience. They are the puppets, and he the puppet master. Those who bask in his words of hate would do well to say "wait a minute, what must he really think of me if he is trying to play on anger and hatred, my basest instincts? And what is it saying about me if I so easily jump right in to ride this crest of hatred?"

In so many cases, it really is asking too much to expect human beings to have the degree of self awareness to actually ask these questions, to actually allow their rational minds to see through this cynical manipulation. It should not be asking too much to hope that people will allow their hearts to speak, to realize that anger and hatred is only hurting themselves, is giving into instincts that can seldom lead to results that better our nation and society, or that better ourselves.

To some extent, almost all politicians adopt a cynical playbook, by using the negative ads that the "science" of marketing has said is so effective. But with Trump it is far more then attempting to create in people's minds a negative impression of a politician's opponent. With Trump it is an effort to make all who oppose him the embodiement of the enemy of America. If winning requires dividing Americans in ways that will last for generations, that is what Trump will do. What does it say of the man that he is willing to do this to our body politic? This is what Trump supporters should be asking themselves, in those moments when they will actually allow their heart to override this headlong rush into anger and hatred of their fellow citizens.

That you think I was baiting you means you missed the point.

Now, whatever you do, you must keep insisting you got the point, and making statements to that regard, which statements still miss the point. Under no circumstances should you try to look deeper, or maybe just ask me what my point was. That was would be too non-confrontational, and you can't own a lib that way.

Well you are very right in that it is entirely too easy to own a liberal in any way. Liberals to a fault are blinded by their manufactured hatred all while being hypocrites in their own right.

If it helps though, I was also watching a movie during our back and forth so mainly focused on that. Been on a based on true events survival story kick lately. Found a couple of gems so far. Last couple have been the Open Water series, 127 hours, and The Jungle which has David Radcliffe.

Have you seen any of those?

Arguing with that would be like arguing about the chemistry of the comb in Snow Drop.

I'm more into Bollywood, although I don't have much time even for that.

It's such a transparent and pointless lie. The crowd was repeating what he tweeted, and he stood there for like ten seconds while they chanted ffs.

Yes.

And my respect for Mitt Romney just dropped another notch:

Yes.

And my respect for Mitt Romney just dropped another notch:

Honestly, does Romney have any clear set of ideals or principles? He’s more flimsy than John Kerry, Which is saying something. It seems to me that he literally could be persuaded to do and say whatever someone tells him would be popular. It’s like he has no conscience, set of values, or principles to guide him. And it’s almost always tone deaf. His political instincts are terrible, While I think Trump does have a unique political instinct to know which nerves to hit even if his values or political principles are deplorable.

In 2024, I frankly wouldn’t the surprised if Romney and Graham were heads of the AOC for president campaign if they felt it gave them just one more term in DC.

Btw, why did Romney run for senate again? Any reason? Anyone know?

Yikes, that video really made me cringe. That should be an eye opener to many.

If their eyes are not open at this point in time, they are permanently closed.

Trump is Trump. A bigot. A phony. Self absorbed. Does not care about this country at all.

There are no surprises.

People who blindly follow him are either bigots or people who tolerate bigotry.

It is pretty basic stuff.
