El Paso Shooting

Nah, you ban "assault rifles" and they just use semi-automatic rifles that don't fall under the "assault-rifle" category.

So you ban all semi-auto rifles and they use semi-auto handguns.

You ban those and they use revolvers with speed loaders.

I mean there's a long way to go until guns are no longer the preferred method of conducting these kinds of attacks.

But really, you ban one type/style and you still have people who have them that are completely unknown. These guns can remain operational for hundreds of years if even kind of cared for.
So do nothing. How has that worked?

I definitely lean D and think that minority misbehavior goes unnoticed. It’s a dialogue that perhaps can’t be had. If it is, people will be called racists, lose jobs, and tensions might escalate.
That's why there is racial profiling and the overwhelming majority of people in prison are minorities … you still think this, then?

I think we all agree. If we could ban all guns knowing it would stop these things from happening in the future, we would. It's just not possible.
So just shrug your shoulders and give up. Do nothing. This is the price of living in America. What the.....

Just to remind some people here that BOTH parties are not equal and that Trumpism didn’t start or end with trump.

Does anyone here think Trump has NOT emboldened these shooters? He is tearing our country apart.

It's time to call out Trump supporters for what they are. ****ing Nazis. Shame them. Blame them. They are sacrificing a nation that took so many great people hundreds of years to create. For what?
I disagree

So, following this logic, we should make fully automatic machine guns fully legal.

I disagree. Why shouldn’t Trumpers be publicly shamed? At this point, we all know what trump is about. We all know by Wednesday this week he’ll be back to tweeting about, “the brown horde” coming to invade our lands, take our jobs, and rape our white women.

Why shouldn’t Trumpers be shamed?

I wouldn't go that far to say we are proud of it.

Get real. We lather up in our role in WWII all the time. We call those people the “Greatest Generation”, and we never bring up Stalingrad when we talk about freedom.

Without the battle of Stalingrad, Normandy might still be a part of Germany. Russia should get just as much credit for our freedom as we do, but we always give ourselves the credit.

And to us, bombing Japan represented our technological advantage over the rest of the world. It was done, in part, to display that advantage to Russia.

All of it fed our hype, made us the strongest world power, put Russia in their place (instead of honoring them) and was essentially an aphrodisiac that produced the largest (to that point) generation of Americans. There is apparently nothing like a couple hundred thousand Japanese deaths as an exclamation point to get the juice flowing in America.

White supremacists, extremists, terrorists, *****, whatever you want to call them, represent a very minute population.

Unfortunately, they do exist.
Tell that to the victims and their families who have seen their presence grow immensely in the last three years. And victims don’t have to be dead, they don’t have to be shot, either.

White nationalists are by far the most dangerous collection of terrorists to and in this country.
