Really l disagree with about everything you say, but I admire that you have a gift of stopping people in their tracks with one sentence. To bad you are on the wrong side. Ever read about Saul that became Paul the apostle? Maybe God will send an angel to you to tell you to quit persecuting his church.

I'm a byu fan though silly. Dad was a Bishop as was my older brother. Both older brothers went on missions. My siblings were all married in the temple. Don't worry about me.

I don't persecute the church. Quite the opposite, I defend it quite often.

You are just confused, like you usually are.

We all earn our salvation individually. I am sure you know that. Confused you say I don't think so. You could have your father be the prophet of the church and your two brothers be apostles and you will still be judged on your own merits. I should have known you would answer my post with another put down. Best wishes and God bless you and your family.

Put down? I said you are confused. You said i persecute the church. Thats not true. I actually defend it. That shows confusion.

Why did you quote my post twice? Confused again?

Persecution complex much? Have you read much(or any) of Brigham Young’s Journal of Discources? The **** he says deserves “persecution”.

Do you understand the parable of the ten virgins? The virgins represent members of the church. Half of the members of the church will not have enough oil (good works) in their lamps to enter in with Christ and live with Him for eternity. So I guess it is OK for me to worry about non members and inactive members is it not?

Nice deflection! Maybe before inviting others to the fold you should really know the history of it. The racism, unfulfilled prophecies, the misogyny, etc.. It’s really quite disturbing. And for the record, I was born and raised LDS but the shelf is broken and will never be put back.

Thank goodness I have had personal revelation where the spirit spoke to my spirit (I heard it like a person was standing next to me, but those with me did not), when Heavenly Father wanted to strengthen my testimony or use me to bring people into his church. This did not happen in any of the other churches.

I have even had a friend come here to my home in the last couple of years claiming to be a prophet just as the scriptures said will happen in the latter days. He was active and fell away. Satan is active and will lead many astray.

Are the church members perfect, that would be a big NO. I could have quit the church many times over imperfect members actions or inactions, but I have learned that God will judge them not me.

Again show me a church that does baptisms for the dead (First Corinthians Chapter 15 Verse 29). I don't believe a loving Heavenly Father will let unbaptised children and adults that died without ever hearing the truth or being baptised go to hell. I am sorry you could not endure to the end.

There is a war going on between darkness and righteousness. I have chosen my side and as I will soon turn 77 I don't think I will be switching sides. God bless.

I choose the side of truth, every time. Best wishes.

Any time Utah plays BYU, I usually look around the interwebs to find out what BYU fans are saying about the upcoming game (I do this with all of Utah’s opponents). It seems like this years go-to smack talk from a good amount of Cougar fans are what seem to be exaggerated stories about how many Ute fans are low income, alcohol consuming idiots who are poor parents, etc. It makes me chuckle because I had a former neighbor who was a BYU fan that asked to come over and watch the rivalry game with me one year. What transpired over the next 3.5 hours was some of the strangest behavior I’ve ever seen.

Maybe I over-simplify it but I think there’s plenty of dbags in both fanbases- which could also be said about any fanbase in any sport. I know Ute fans have their tendencies (such as commenting on BYU articles) that will always annoy Cougar fans. I definitely feel like BYU fans being so quick to try and paint the Utah fanbase as white trash drunks is their oldest, most time tested schtick.

I think both teams will look pretty sloppy being that it’s the first game of the year and there are key players out with injury/still recovering. But I think it’ll be close and utah will win in the end. Too much athleticism. Although, historically, BYU has usually looked very good at the start of their seasons and have gradually worn down to lack of depth and brutal schedules.

Could this be the year BYU finally beats utah?

Normally, I would agree with everything you just said but there’s a few things making me lean towards Utah winning by 10+. If one examines the recent season opening victories BYU has had over P5 schools, they’ll see that none of those teams ended up being very good. I’m not 100% sure Utah can live up to all of the preseason hype they’re getting but I absolutely do believe they’re one of the 2 best teams in the PAC and most likely a Top 15 team in terms of talent.

I also think if Troy Taylor was still Utah’s OC, BYU would win this game. Taylor often shoe-horned game plans to suit his pass-first mentality and was HORRIBLE at halftime adjustments. Literally, the only game in 2018 in which Utah had a strong 2nd half was the BYU game. Ludwig is more apt to search out what BYU is struggling to defend and keep going at it.

There’s only one thing that gives me a little bit of pause: Utah almost always looks average in their first 2 or 3 games. I’m banking on the Defense being good enough to carry Utah through any offensive sluggishness. I also don’t think BYU has any gamebreakers. They’ve got an awesome QB, and what I think will be a very good to great defense but I think their WR’s are MWC level players and their RB’s are unproven commodities who probably aren’t any better than some of the average RB’s Utah will face in PAC 12 play. BYU has some nice TE’s but I think Utah does too. Aside from Zach Wilson getting on a roll, I can’t really pick out a unit on BYU’s squad that’s better than Utah’s. Some will say Offensive line but I think Utah’s D-line is good enough to at least neutralize that match-up. I also think Utah’s O-Line is going to be much stronger than some are predicting.
