What's new

Trevor Booker

You know Booker did hint at a return to the jazz. Didnt play in the NBA last year. You gotta wonder if they could fit him on the roster at some point next season.

As much as I like Trevor Booker dont we already have enough undersized players to play the 4? Unless you think he is a SF, then... why would the Jazz need another SF?

He’s not undersized at the 4. His rebounding would be considered elite and he punches above his weight. He could be more of a small ball 5, too. He could be very serviceable. The question is if he’d be better than Howard. His position of need would be higher on our list, and who knows if Howard/Kidd ever get any burn. I’d prefer him over TB. He and Davis probably wouldn’t/shouldn’t share the floor, which would significantly limit his utility.

Since when is 6'8" not considered undersized as a PF? Dont tell me, "the modern Pf blah blah blah", if he is not undersized then Joe or Bojan isnt undersized. If we already have 3 players that could play PF (Green, Ingles, Bojan) then why would we need a 4th?

What we dont have is another true sized PF

Size isn’t just where the top of your head is. Which four would Booker struggle against? Aldridge? He’s going to outmuscle 99% of fours, and he’s going to outrebound anyone not named Kevin Love. No, neither Ingles nor Bojan are anywhere near his size, despite all being the same height. If you’ll remember, one of the greatest defensive centers of the past couple decades was only 6’9”, and in an era where that was on the smaller end for the 4 spot. And one of the greatest defensive PFs of all time and a hall of famer was only 6’7”. 6’8” Trevor Booker is perfectly fine at the 4 in “today’s NBA.”

Well said. Loved Booker when he was here but I don't think he fits the biggest need which is someone who fits well in a big lineup.

Booker back in Utah would be sweet. Too bad we'd hardly play Detroit as I want to see him make Griffin freak out again.

I think he would be a good pickup if he agrees to a small role. Imagine 10 or so minutes of electric energy off the bench. If he still has that, I would go for it. Plus he wanted to stay in Utah, which is another plus.

This. I liked Trevor but if we needed what he would bring we could have just kept Crowder.
We didn't get rid of Crowder to get rid of him, he was necessary for the trade to get Conley.

And you bet your *** I would've kept Crowder and shipped Exum's busted *** out of here instead. Better a forward that leaves something to be desired as a shooter than a guard that is worse at shooting and cannot stay healthy that costs more money somehow.

Meh. There are dozens of players who are as good or better than Booker. Another forward who can't shoot isn't going to help us.

I'm here to be the echo chamber for @Handlogten's Heros and @infection yet again. There is a list of players of significant length that the Jazz could still sign outright that would be more useful than Bradley, and Booker is near the top of that list. And I'm not even suggesting he be in the regular rotation. But I'd be much more comfortable throwing Booker out there on special teams or in an emergency than a kid that doesn't look like an NBA player in the G-League and has played like 69 total NBA minutes or some ****.

Ingles is never playing PF. Never.
