Do you go around calling people 'You're not all there' just because their opinions differ from you?

Easy to just throw rocks at people who are different I guess right?

In Utah, the code specifies the basis for each grade of charge quite closely. I don't think this is murder. Negligent homicide. Manslaughter.

If it goes to murder it will be because she did not back out, get to safe place, and call the cops.... well.... other cops. Not a stand your ground case.... it wasn't "her ground". It was his.

She was likely very tired, and distracted by the damn phone texting. I feel sorry for her about 10% as much as I feel sorry for the man.

Her job as an armed policeman is over. She is likely no threat to anyone now. She is likely mentally stable. Let's not throw her in prison. Time served, community service, probation.... meaning someone keeping track of how she is doing.

Not a case of impudent police misconduct, a case of a person who makes no claim of special rights. It costs a lot to keep people in concrete boxes while guards hover everywhere. Let's not waste our money on a case that is punishment enough for the cop just to live with.

Are you this forgiving/understanding if it was someone that was close to you that was shot? Tired and distracted is not a good excuse for walking into the wrong residence and shooting someone. Her training and experience also works against her in this case. If I am a tax pro and commit tax fraud on my individual return it would be tough to say it was an accident or just ignorance.

This ain't no whoopsie daisy accident... letting her off with a slap on the wrist is pretty disrespectful to the deceased and his family/friends.

It has nothing to do with your opinions being different than mine. Some of my best friends have very different views than mine in a lot of areas.
I think you’re looney. I have no problem telling that to people who are a few nuggets short of a happy meal, IMO. You’re not the first, nor will you be the last. Part of the joys of truly not giving a flying **** what others think of me.

My gf is crazy paranoid about always locking the door. Regardless if it's just for a few minutes of it being unlocked. Her parent's best friends were murdered after their daughter's estranged bf broke into their house in the middle of the day and killed them.

It's not a bad thing to always have your doors locked. You might be surprised how many people lose their life because of it.

That said, if you're killed because of it, I blame the killer.
 
LOL.. the prosecution already making a few mistakes as far as I can see.

They have called (so far) 4 witnesses who lived on the same floor as the victim to testify to the gunshot noise and the commotion, etc, on the day of the shooting.

HOWEVER, the defense had been able to cross examined and found that all of those 4 witnesses had at some point went to the wrong floor and put their keys in the wrong rooms and nearly got in the wrong apartments.

Goes to show that this is a very common occurrence, at least at this particular apartment.
 
Another 'oops' was when they called the ranger who investigated the case to the stand, but he somehow turned around and said that he thought that Amber faced a clear threat to her life and that she was in the right to have shot the victim.

Luckily (for the prosecution) the Judge dismissed the testimony as it goes to her state of mind and that's for the jury to decide.

Seems like the police & the DA are at odds with each other on this particular case.
