Jazz v. Sixers!! pre-season game

I honestly want to see what a line-up would look like with Conley, Mitchell, Ingles, Gobert and... Brantley.

Brantley defends. He rebounds. He uses his wide body to drive. And he can pass. He's different from a lot of other bigs in that he can handle, change directions and use some subtle timing. I think he could still get a little leaner and get above the rim more, but he's got a nice all-around game. He plays with some swagger.

If he can knock down some shots, I might like him more than Niang, tbh.

I was impressed with Brantley's passing. Aussie NBL team or not, some of his passes were great.

Am I the only one impressed by Eric Griffin? If you ask me, I think the Jazz should sign him. I was surprised he didn't make the team two years ago. Does anyone know why the Jazz passed on him?

Griffin was good, but he wasn't even the best player on his team. That's why the Jazz and every other NBA team passed on him.

Lacked jazz dna.
I looked him up on Wikipedia. If you read between the lines, it sounds like he has some character issues. He's been with more teams than anyone I've ever seen. Sometimes he only spent a couple of games with a team. He must be a headcase. Too bad because the guy has talent. I noticed wherever he's played, he's been a great shot blocker and that was in evidence tonight. Wonder why some team has not tried to develop him.

Justin Wright-Foreman played a few nice minutes. He's 3rd or 4th string, but he can probably make the league.

William Howard didn't miss tonight, 4/4 with 3/3 from 3-pt range, for 11 points in 12 minutes. He looked comfortable stroking the ball off the catch.

Thats how overseas basketball works.

Jeff Green highlights

Hes going to fit nicely

Hard to take away too much from an opponrnt like this but it was nice to see Jerome Randle again, i was a fan of him in college, he's a big star over there. He had a good game although he got jingled.

He looked like Paul George on some of those plays. I'm trying to remember all the teams he's played on, but I'm not sure he's been on a team that shares the ball like the Jazz did tonight.

Really impressed by a lot of things.

I'm pretty damn optimistic right now.

So many things one could say but for me I'm impressed by our 3 later 2nd round picks.
I mean to even be intrigued by them is a win. Two of them look like potential future rotation guys who could contribute.

Brantley will be a lot of fun to watch develop. Who knows where if any playing time will come to him this year, but I like him. Seems like a wildcard with his power, and ability to play in a system.

Probably most impressed by Jeff Green. Such a monster in transition with his combo of size, athletic ability, and handling. Such a stark contrast to Crowder.

....and here is where I get excited about our upgrades. crowder was cool looking, streaky, and would stand up for teammates. but he wasn't a good shooter, and couldn't get above the rim.

Green is an upgrade with a chip on his shoulder. Get excited folks.

But crowder was a tough defender...his toughness will be missed.

Although i will agree. I never seen someone brick so many layups, but he improved that towards the second half of the season.

Just watched the replay (being 8h ahead of Utah time sucks..). Glad the offseason is finally over! I was happy to finally see Jazz court again. Can't wait to see the rookies against the actual nba players, Brantley and Oni look really promising. Joe's passing was great, I hope Ed Davis will take advantage of it even if he is not such a roller as Favors.

Seems like a guy we can reliably get ten or so points a night from. He won't be asked to do too much so I think there's reason to believe he'll get them efficiently.

Agreed. His knock has been inconsistency, but we don't need him to carry the load. Just do a few things and eat minutes.

Niang sucks
You suck!!!!

Unfortunately that will never happen since the jazz decided to sign that scrub Oni.

Because he sucks.

Your basketball player assessment abilities suck. Niang couldn't make an nba roster anywhere else. Did you get his jersey on sale or something? One of our rookies will steal his roster spot, dont worry

I'd take him over NWG - who looks like he's made some improvements but he just doesn't have that second gear you want in a back-up PG.
