Jazz v. Sixers!! pre-season game

Really impressed by a lot of things.

I'm pretty damn optimistic right now.

So many things one could say but for me I'm impressed by our 3 later 2nd round picks.
I mean to even be intrigued by them is a win. Two of them look like potential future rotation guys who could contribute.

Brantley will be a lot of fun to watch develop. Who knows where if any playing time will come to him this year, but I like him. Seems like a wildcard with his power, and ability to play in a system.

Andy Larsen hit the nail on the head in re Brantley. Him ever becoming a rotation player will hinge on 2 things... him being a lockdown defender or an average ish 3 point shooter...

I don’t think he’ll ever be an average 3 point shooter

The Sixers were a really bad team. I doubt they would win a third of their games in the GLeague. Niang did a good job of chucking, not a good job or making. I would rather have Eric Griffin. The young guys looked good against these glue factory nags. The Stars season looks promising with them taking part. I didn't realize how young Bradley is until T or Boler mentioned it.

I’m watching the highlights on my phone, but is it JWF who appears to be throwing slick passes and has good vision? Wasn’t that the knock on him? Looks pretty damn good in these highlights.

He did. All the young guys looked good last night. I was kind of bummed we didn't get to see the legendary Travien Bluett.

I am extremely high on Jarrell Brantley. I absolutely adore his game. Extremely smart player, great vision, great tools. I enjoy every minute he spends on the floor, and I hope he makes the team.

His arms grew 15 inches of length in the offseason

Let him get some reps in the g league. I like him. Dude was super nice to the kids at summer league... easy guy to root for.

I honestly want to see what a line-up would look like with Conley, Mitchell, Ingles, Gobert and... Brantley.

Brantley defends. He rebounds. He uses his wide body to drive. And he can pass. He's different from a lot of other bigs in that he can handle, change directions and use some subtle timing. I think he could still get a little leaner and get above the rim more, but he's got a nice all-around game. He plays with some swagger.

If he can knock down some shots, I might like him more than Niang, tbh.

I like Niang but I already like Brantley better, potential wise for sure. Let’s see how he handles himself against tougher opponents.

There are some good deals on single seats for these pre-season games. You can get $150 or $170 seats for $25 or $30.

I loved the triple wing during the end of the 1st quarter with Oni, Royce, and Ingles. It stifled the 36ers' offense and they went nearly scoreless. Could that be a rotation instead of a 2nd PG and use NWG as an emergency 3rd PG?

Just watched the replay (being 8h ahead of Utah time sucks..). Glad the offseason is finally over! I was happy to finally see Jazz court again. Can't wait to see the rookies against the actual nba players, Brantley and Oni look really promising. Joe's passing was great, I hope Ed Davis will take advantage of it even if he is not such a roller as Favors.
I was surprised Davis rolled as much as he did. Looked like the Jazz were trying to develop a PNR game with Davis and Ingles in this game. If Davis can do that we may be dangerous with our second and first string guys.

Griffin had 4 blocked shots for them. Still wonder why the Jazz pulled the plug on him and Nate Wolters at the same time as two way players. Nate had a decent rookie season for the Bucks. Our two ways since have produced virtually nothing.

How many two ways are actually going to produce something for us? We are using them and looking for a 14 or 15 player. If we get someone that develops into a rotational player at all from a two way contract, then we have exceeded expectations. Would one in 25 of those be successful for the Jazz? One in 50?
