Stupid Pet Peeves

The saddest thing is that they say that using that stupid *** jargon gives people the impression that you're important and smart.

Like who hears that **** and thinks the person saying it is smarter because they use stupid hollow terms like that?

Dont be coy! Its like the 80s in east germany, mods slapping me on the wrist and sending me to a re-education center, it reeks of your perfidy.

Dude i’m so petty if I’d successfully got you into trouble I’d have made a new thread to rub your filthy nose in it and invite others to kick you while you were down ...

The real question is why haven't you? What else have you got planned?

I actually start to tune them out, which can be good and bad. Good I don't waste my time on it, bad if they are in a position of authority and expect something of me based on the conversation or meeting.

This is really random but people that shorten names of dogs to something cute. Calling a rottweiler a rottie or a doberman a dobie. A girl I work with does it all the time and I want to punch her in the face every time she talks about her dogs.

Love my goldie, cairnie and morkie.

I guess while we're on the subject of pet peeves I don't like when my goldie blows her ACL and then blows the other one 9 months later. Surgery scheduled for next week for the $14,000 dog, not including normal expenses(she had a $7000 hospital stay 6 years ago).

Ain’t no dog worth that.

Forreal though. That happens to my dog and I'm like guess it was her time to go...

Yeah, over $3000 per ACL(CCL) and over $7000 for swallowing a ball. Plus all her regular vet bills, food, etc. And she's completely trashed my (formerly)new wood floors over the last 5 years just by walking/running on them. She's only 10 too so there could be more vet bills coming as she ages. Then there's the possible health problems for the other two dogs. Dogs can be very expensive, but the reality is that they're worth it.

Growing up my parents would spend money for medical stuff for their aging pets and they always seemed to die very shortly afterwards. I decided then that if I have a pet that needs significant medical treatment I was not going to do it. I mean it would be situational, but for an older pet I'd try to give them the best quality of life possible short of surgeries and stuff and if they were suffering I'd euthanize them.

Our dogs are Pomeranian shihtzu mixes. So pomshits or shitranians I guess. I just shorten it to *****.

I love my dogs. I’ve had dogs in my house for all but a handful of years of my life. I will not spend more than 3x the cost to replace them. I have labs, which generally cost $300-$350. So I refuse to spend more than $1000 on one. Probably not even 3/4 of that TBH.

So if your dog blew an ACL(CCL) what would you do?

Not fix it. I don’t know what the other options are, but I’m not spending that amount on a pet.
I used to take my dog to work with me. We were in a house and an idiot framer shot a nail up through the floor. It went right through his paw. I put some peroxide on it, taped some gauze with meridian on it, put it in a sock, and duct taped the sock so it would stay up.

Today’s pet peeve:
Tobacco chewers who think it’s okay to just spit wherever they want. I went to go kneel down to do some work and almost put my knee in that ****.

Agreed. There were a lot of chewing tobacco users in the Navy because there were very few places people were allowed to smoke on the ship and they were usually crowded, far and nasty. So people would chew instead. Also on a ship you have to seperate all your trash into plastic, metal, paper and dunnage. In my regular job we sorted as we threw stuff away or else we stored it until we pulled into port and could throw it away on the pier (they'd pull a big dumpster up next to the ship that you could toss stuff into from the hanger bay). But when I was temp duty to shipboard security they didn't do that and made the temp duty people sort the trash. I thought that was absolutely stupid and disgusting, but since the MAs (Master-at-Arms) didn't have to do the sorting they didn't care. Sorting trash was bad enough but having their spit cup spill all over the trash you were sorting made me fantasize about killing people.
