Stanton Kidd released!

After 5 games, Juwan Morgan has the best advanced stats in the g-league.

Nigel Williams-Goss is awful

If he plays the 5...

... it means DL’s prized guy that’s in his third year was able to be replaced by someone off the scrap heap who’s never played a minute in the NBA.
Small sample, but enough to know Bradley ain’t it. Lindsey whiffed on a #30 pick. It happens.

I have no problem with that. What I’ll have a problem with is the insistence that we can salvage something. DL strikes me as a guy who has a drawer full of old batteries, not quite wanting to let go of the very minimal amount of charge he may be able to draw out of them if he shakes them vigorously.

We had a guy play for the Stars and our summer league team in 2018, Diamond Stone, who was about Bradley's size, a McDonald's All American and a high 2nd round pick by another team. The other team let him go, we parted ways with him and has released by a GLeague team this year. Look at our pick of Oliver Hanlan. Sometimes these things happen.

I called him a hoarder the other day... I think this is a good description too. My issues with the Tony pick:

1- the thought process behind it was goofy... draft a guy who is not athletic, not a shooter, and can only play one position... the one position that we have a cornerstone at the time... and the one position being marginalized and where there are an abundance of options.

2- the sunk cost stick with it mentality.

3- picking up his option... just why?

4- This could go with #1 but the trading up because San Antonio was totally going to pick the guy supposedly... this was just a weird narrative to me and I think the Spurs trolled us.

Maybe he’ll help us land Patty Mills.

I like this. Dude fouls a lot though.

If Morgan can take advantage of this opportunity and develop his body (a few said he looks heavy), maybe we have something.

After watching his highlights from the G League this season I think it makes sense. Can catch and finish the bounce pass on pick and roll or the lob. Wide big body so sets good screens. Seems like a solid passer and that he knows where to be. Can handle and moves his feet well on defense. Straight stood a couple guys up on drives and you could tell he's strong AF. I would like to see him play some on Friday.

He's strong and plays with some toughness that lets him keep bigger guys in check. He's a bit like Royce in that regard.

Bringing Kidd to camp after this year's summer league seemed goofy to me. There were a couple of SL games where he stunk bad. I thought Willie Reed and George King were more deserving of camp invitations than Kidd.

Lol last night I predicted he would replace Kidd next year. Didn't think it'd happen the next day.

That's a cool skill. Do you control it? If so maybe you Could you use it again. Here are a few suggestions:

predict Mike Conley will play at an all star level next season.

Or that Brantley would get significant minutes next season

Or Miye Oni will take all of Dexums minutes next season and hit 45% of his 3s

Same reaction I had.

Though in a perfect world we signed him because some other team is dumb enough to send a 2nd for Niang. <--- I wish

Morgan has been good with the Stars so far this season - seems to have a decent all-around game.
We should have sent Niang to Portland. There were desperate!
