There has been one occasion where the Jazz told Dante to go out there and be 'that' dude.
In that summer league where the Jazz challenged him to be the best player on the court, in all 3 of his summer league games. He averaged 20/5/5. I know, its summer league, but regardless, he was asked to be the man. He shot more off the dribble shots in a few minutes than he had all previous season , and even had David Locke gushing on the fact that he was actually doing it. He was making them too. At that point, I saw the Dante that I was accustomed to seeing before he got drafted. I said to myself, where has this Dante been?
Lets not forget, Donovan Mitchell was the worst rookie in history, in his 2 to 3 week play at the beginning of the season, but he was afforded that time, and for good reason, because now we are bearing fruit. He was allowed to make every mistake possible, and boy did he make them. Dante wasn't allowed, that's not up for debate. He wasn't allowed, for good reason or bad reason, he wasn't afforded the same.
Injuries are to blame as the top reason for his development, or lack of. Then Quin, the coaching staff, and Dante himself are to blame after that. You cannot absolve blame from any of them, and like I just mentioned, that includes Dante himself.
EDIT: On topic though, I would snatch their hand for this trade.
