What's new

August 19 --> ENES KANTER's is staring now :) >>Turkey - Greece<<< LIVE MATCH LINK HERE :) <<<

Man am I glad I didn't watch this one.

I'm starting to worry that playing on this team is going to be detrimental to Kanter's development.

Is anyone else secretly hoping he gets cut? I personally wouldn't mind. Then we could get him on the next available flight to Louisiana.

Ya at this point its not even worth the injury risk. He is gaining nothing.
What are the Turkish fans saying on their forums about this travesty.

It is pretty normal for young players not to get enough playing time or touches in national teams unless they are head and shoulders better then veterans. Kanter is obviously not better then Asik and most likely Erden as well so to count on him scoring in double figures is unrealistic. But I agree that 3.2pts and 2.7 reb average is concerning for nr. 3 draft pick. For example Lithuanian front line is crowded as well but Jonas Valanciunas is finding ways to be more productive - today vs Russia he posted 13pts, 16reb, yesterday vs Spain 11pts, 5reb. Of course it is just friendlies and how their game will translate into NBA might be a different story but at least now it looks like JV has upper hand.

hi calg,you just dont stop,anyway Kanter playing is agood thing,even on this ballhog 3 point chucking freeze out they are pulling on the kid.this might not make him better but it will make him tougher because its got to be a shot to his ego,but if he is a stud and not a dud this will just fuel him in the long run.

In his few minutes, Enes looked pretty good on the defensive end. Grabbed a board, provided good help D (a good foul against Mbenga). Got one opportunity in the post, couldn't convert. Out-muscled a couple Belgians to be the first to an O-board off a free throw, ball was jarred loose and Turkey recovered (nice to see him use his body, even though he couldn't hold on to the ball). The screens could use some work, but he seems to know where to be.

Yeah that is a real treat to have the score covered up.
Good to see Enes getting a few touches in this game at least. Turkey seems to be going a little more to the inside game today so far anyway... nice O rebound and and1 by Enes.

Damn these refs are whistle-happy... (Kanter completed the 3-point play), now 1-2 2 points, 2 rebounds.

goaltend, 2-3 5 points 2 boards. More good help d too (someone needs to help the helper...).

bit on the pump fake, second foul, to the bench. Looked really good while he was in there. Given the reports from his past games, I'm pleasantly surprised with his D. Good awareness, good decisions.

That wasn't goaltending they gave points to other turk 1-4 fg 3 pts 2 rebs. Belgium is srubs team they doesn't even make fiba top 75 teams. Turkey should be destroying them....
