The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

You made a typical Randian misallocation statement without accounting for any indirect benefits. To a Randian, we might as well get rid of all programs like social security and unemployment benefits because they are first, foremost, and forever a wasted misallocation tax, and to hell with all the indirect benefit provided to the taxpayer. Ut either does not exist to them, or they aren't capable of expanding their view beyond the initial tax.

These programs create a whole lot of smoothing dynamism. They're stabilizers. But in the view you gave us they are nothing more than a tax burden that leads to misallocation.
I think the misallocation is to programs that create weapons of war, especially wars which for the most part have been instigated by the U.S. for the purpose of feeding the MIC. And there's plenty of historical evidence to support that. I posted a link to an article that touched on this that I wrote about four years or so ago. It's probably more radical than most of the posters here, but then I don't pretend to be conservative.

This is both true and also misleading. The MIC creates jobs because taxpayers invest trillions into the MIC programs. If you did not tax people to build the MIC that money can remain in the private sector and create jobs more efficiently than the government can.

Ps: I worked in the MIC for 11 years

Or, you could invest that in government infrastructure and a social safety net, and create jobs still more efficiently.

I only spent 6 years in the MIC.

I see your point. Support for some institutions like education us foundational to economic success, I.e., dumb citizens are unproductive.

Given a stable societal infrastructure, the private sector/ capitalism is the final yard to optimal productivity. Because of capitalistic Darwinism, enterprises that are not efficiently employing Human Resources fail.

So my thesis is that you need both to optimize the whole.

You mean like every single time something happens in Iran the democrats go running to their Ayatollah for their talking points? Remember members here telling us it was Trump who blew a hole in that ship in The Straight of Hormuz, just like Khamenei said?

No, and no. The latter might have been suggested, since this is Trump we're talking about, and false flags are a popular conspiracy narrative in this day and age, but I don't recollect at this time.

At least the Ukraine conspiracy has some meat to it, like Fusion GPS, all the oligarch funding, Peter Schiff's staffers planting the quid pro quo seed, the doctored, still unproven "black ledger", and on and on.

I really think I would need to be Giuliani-level dense between the ears to fall for all that. And I'm not.

Are you serious? How many would you like?

(You're only getting one because I have an early plane to catch, but these are easy to find. You really are serious when you say you don't pay attention to politics, aren't you.)
Poor example.

We thought he was going to be is different than we think he is imo.

Trumpers think he has already achieved a god like status. He is a near equivalent to God to many idiots.

(To be fair saying we thought Obama, or anyone, was going to be the next Messiah is a really stupid thing to say too)

1 of the 2 “impartial jurors” from North Carolina. He’s definitely going to take impeachment seriously. How old is Eric anyway? 7 years old? Trumpism definitely isn’t a cult...
