I saw the end of the Golden Globes and after really incoherent acceptance speeches by Joaquin Phoenix and Renee Zellweger Ricky wrapped up the show by telling the audience to "go take your drugs and drink your liquor and **** off."

So I just googled his opening monologue and oh boy, it's a duesy.

Gervais always struck me as an *******. Not surprised by this at all.

Not a big fan of his, After Life on netflix is quite funny tho. Watch some comics like Frankie Boyle, Stewart Lee and Doug Stanhope, they're where its at.
I’m not saying he’s my favorite... or even that I particularly like him... but he’s unquestionably a comedy icon. His impact on televisual comedy, in particular, has been enormous by any standard.

one of my favourites, fairly safe for work.

chew on a bit of his stuff, awesome.

Ricky calling out virtue signaling that happens at these shows was incredible. Hollywood pretending like they are more righteous than everyone else is so absurd. Calling people out for befriending Epstein and being complicit to Harvey Weinstein was so spot on, and exactly the reason why we shouldn't look to these people as our moral compass.

Who looks to people in Hollywood as their moral compass?
