What's new

The Official "Let's Vote Trump Out" Thread!

What's changed is that Donald Trump was the third president in US history to be impeached, try to keep up.

Also, I'm fairly certain Bernie Sanders isn't going to be putting the Iowa democratic party in charge of Medicare For All.
That's it? A label will be put on him? Lol wooooo! Holy cow!!!!

Nothing's changed.

And sorry Bernie Bros, not going to happen. You really think the party of saying people shouldn't be allowed to choose their president is going to allow you to choose your elect? Dude, c'mon.

"For precisely this reason, the president’s misconduct cannot be decided at the ballot box"

-the guy who lied that he had substantial evidence.

I don't think they should be ignored, or dismissed, just that they are more useful in identifying trends rather than as a crystal ball into what is going to happen in November. The polling we have now indicates that the Democratic field is full of candidates that are competitive with Trump. Considering the monumental task of defeating an incumbent when the "economy" isn't in the *****er, I'd say that's about as much as we can reasonably ask for.

fair enough.

I do think the EC can make defeating trump easier/harder depending on how it’s played. We know that Trump will get the Deep South. We know that Democrats will get the popular vote and the coasts. The question is, where should the Democrats concentrate? Upper Midwest where they barely lost in 2016? Build a New Democratic wall in Texas where it won’t matter what else Trump wins? Or build a contingency plan in Georgia and Arizona in the case that the upper Midwest goes for Trump?

Demographics say that the upper Midwest is becoming more Republican and that Georgia, Texas, and Arizona are becoming more Democratic. Are they ready to be flipped? This may seem tempting considering the surges we saw during Beto’s and Stacey’s campaigns. If Democrats take Texas, it won’t matter what Republicans win. Winning California, New York, and Texas essentially guarantee one’s electoral college win.

Trump is the incumbent. But let’s also remember he’s now impeached, we’re seeing him mentally deteriorate before our eyes, and it’s not like Clinton (a historically unpopular candidate) lost big. I have fewer concerns about the Democratic nominee as I do about their campaigns. I fear Russian hacking and Facebook more than Trump’s actual campaign.

I think we should focus on the upper Midwest. But Trump’s people also know this. And he’ll undoubtedly have the help of the Russians, Facebook, and whatever Cambridge Analytica is calling itself these days to help build a Red wall in the upper Midwest to guarantee him a 2nd term.

Also, I just want to add, how many seats and governorships have Democrats won since 2016? People act as if Democrats haven’t been kicking *** the last 4 years in elections. As if they don’t know how to win. If Trump is really so great, why is he costing his own party so many seats?

This guy isn’t beatable?

Democratic campaign ads just write themselves.

My gf's parents are staying with us for a few. They're huge Fox News Trumpers from Florida. They watch Fox News religiously. I can't talk to her dad about Trump or he gets all worked up over my opinion. Her mom went so far as to look up what pages I liked on Facebook and saw I liked Vice News and it made my suspect and she thought I was super liberal. To be fair, a lot of what Vice posts is complete trash - I love their docs and YouTube videos though.

Anyway, her dad told me this morning Obama accumulated the most debt as president. I ignored his comment (I've learned my lesson to talk politics with him) and googled it. I read this this morning and learned a few things.

sorry man it sounded like were a bit pissed. Thought you might have been an angry nancy fan.

Is the state of the union always such an hour and a half circle jerk
I think it is always like that but then again I never watch them.
I watched about 5 minutes of this one and couldn't take it anymore. After every sentence there is mandatory clapping. I think that they are all like that regardless of who the president is. Kind of nauseating

Incumbent presidents don't often lose.

I think it’s pretty funny when someone who clearly has no idea how the American electoral system works yet insists on interjecting their (strong) opinions about it. A warning to not diminish others is fine but shouldn’t come at the expect of diminishing the person who insists on interjecting their poorly informed opinion on a subject they clearly know nothing about. If you feel how I described the status of the political system or accuracy of polls as inaccurate, please refute it. If you felt I wasn’t nice, just state so.

I stated my actual objection quite clearly: you were using the notion of the Dunning Kruger effect in a manner that the author of the paper rejects. If you don't believe me on that, look it up.

If we decide to distort science when we feel like, who will be left to defend it?

I think keeping people on it isdepriving humans of self worth, dignity, and the American dream. And I think there's a loooot of people sitting that know that and thrive off of that and I do view it as modern day slavery.

No government agency "keeps" people on food stamps. When you don't need them anymore, you get taken off the rolls. I went through that a couple of times.

What you are doing is taking callousness toward those who don't get the opportunities to improve, and wrapping it in self-righteousness to feel better about it.

It's not about Trump, it's about the success of the American people. It goes to show partisanship is more important than the success of the country.

Cowards...

No doubt, you can point us back to the complaints you made about Republicans sitting down and not applauding Obama?

This is a lie... I see it first hand managing retail.

Also tell me, where are these people who lost their food stamps now? What do you think they're doing? I bet you they found a job. I mean it's probably part of the record unemployment rates.

Sorry to question you though master. God forbid people be self sufficient. That's so callous.

It's a wonder that Democratic run cities lead the country homelessness. Like 15 of the top 20 cities are Democratic plantations where rich rule the popr. You want to see some amazingly sad things walk down skid row, or be on the streets in San Francisco on Christmas morning.

"But food stamps!!!"

Clueless hypocrites and their moral high ground.

That reflects my experience.

Not everyone gets the opportunities I got.

I see no further point in discussion this with you; your self-righteousness oozes out, and it's both sad and nauseating.
