I agree, it aint happening. It's not worth thinking through, because its not happening and the jazz aren't trading him. The big sell is that he will be "fully healthy" next year and the big kicker is that he can get his old number 11 back in the offseason to show us how he will be back to his old (non all star) self in all his memphis glory.
 
this conversation is going full stupid. This is not a strategy that would work at all and would only hurt us and him... both on the court and off it. I can't tell you how much this behavior would hurt our reputation with other players... I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul.
 
IMHO the mere concept of trying to build a team around a player with not one individual offensive go to move is just flawed. I reject the idea that basketball is comprised of 2 different parts. It's not the NFL. O and D are completelly merged. You just won't win anything great playing just D. The levels of thoughness (both physical and mental), athleticism and basketball individual skills out there is just too darn friggin' high to think you will stop the other guys on a regular basis. You need to outplay them. Not to out-D them. In my mind it's just a flawed concept. And the same goes in my mind about overcoaching...
Oh... and in the Conley front... I really do not think thge Jazz should just throw him out the window...

You want to retain your good players. We did sign Bojan this offseason, Mudiay came here because he wanted to be here... you don't want to be the organization that tried to bench Mike Conley in an failed effort to get him to not pick up his option. Especially here in Utah where its an up hill battle.

Its a stupid strategy/idea.

The flip side of the coin is Mudiay coming here, changing bad habits for good ones, having a positive impact on most games he plays in, and getting benched to play people who are aren't performing. That would show me the coach is set on playing who he wants rather than who performs. Sometimes at the cost of losing. Not sure I'd want to be on that team if I'm a true competitor. Also, if you wind up in Quin's doghouse, there is usually no getting out.

That is what is currently happening (well by your opinion). So why isn't this a narrative yet. Say the Jazz benched Conley to get him to not pick up the last year of his contract... Do you think we'd hear about that? He just got benched and its a tweet and Shams story...

Mudiay champions need to realize that Mike has still been better than him... even though he's sucked by his own standards. And there is long history of much better performance with Mike... there is no coach in the NBA that would be playing Mudiay over Mike... none.

The situation could dictate differently. If we need more pace and aggressiveness on the offensive side, just like Clarkson presents, Mudiay can provide the same spark. Mudiay gets going downhill and can be effective.

Ummm its a lot on Mike... he isn't making shots from areas he has traditionally made shots from. The increase in turnovers might be more of a system thing and maybe there are adjustments we could make.
