"Nobody is blaming Trump"

Yes...They...Are...

What are "they" blaming trump for? Can you define what you mean here?

I see criticism for his poor response to the virus. I thought you agreed.

When you type, it reads like you think people are blaming trump FOR THE VIRUS. Are you just being hyperbolic? or are you actually stating that "they" think Trump is the difference between this virus existing and not existing?

I just got back from Costco. In the Salt Lake Valley we have one Costco that is easily twice the size of all the others and it opens at 7am vs 10am for all the rest. So I left work and went there, a bit of a drive. When I got there at 6:50am there was a line halfway around the building. They had a 1tp and 2 water limit. I was there to get some meat to freeze, canned food and I did snag a package of TP. I wanted some chicken, there was no kirkland chicken. There were no rotisserie chickens (but maybe because they just opened). A lot of the meat was gone already. I got fresh pork loin chops and country style spare ribs and some hamburger. I planned to get a big bag of rice but all the rice was gone. There was an okay selection of canned goods.

I was pretty quick and was walking out the door at 7:30am the lady checking receipts said 850 customers in the first 30 min. That was how many receipts she had checked. As soon as she checked my receipt they were passing the word to the employees that the TP was gone.

****ing madhouse!

The asian markets are actually pretty chill if you still need some rice. I am sad though because Costco is my go-to for meat.

Started to post something similar to this and then discarded my post knowing it's a waste of time.

Good luck

Yeah I'm going to the Chinatown Supermarket later today for the big bag of rice and a few other things I go there for regularly. But I am going to get some beef bones, oxtail and chicken feet so I can make some beef and chicken bone broth.

You son of a bitch. A man after my own heart. I'll see you there.

Kind of... I think people are using this as any excuse to make him out to be the bad guy here when just like the rest of the world he wasn't prepared. It's part of their psychotic Anti-Trump agenda. I wasn't a fan of Obama but I never even thought about blaming him when the swine flu killed 18,000 Americans having 50 million sick. It's downright political theater.

We really don't even know what's going to happen yet, yet people are freaking out. Personally I know I will be fine as long as I can eat which this fear mongering leaves me a bit worried.

I think Anti-Trumpsters are rooting for this virus. I think they are getting a guilty pleasure out of this.

Anyways I stand by my argument that this fearmongering by @Red is just that. If I am wrong I will fully admit it but none of his crazy numbers make sense. If someone wants to enlighten me why Americans will get sick at 2000% more of the rate of the rest of the world, I'm all ears. Why there is one billion people in China yet only 80,000(let's double that 160,000) got sick there yet 150,000,000 will get sick here? What is the thought process behind this? There are only 180,000 reported cases world wide yet the USA is going to have 45% of it's population sick when no other country is even remotely close to 1%? I don't think I'm asking a stupid question here like you all are claiming am I? I think it's pretty reasonable.

Can any of you answer this btw? It's a an actual question I have.

Yep. Schools in Cranford are closed today - they were originally supposed to be closed on Monday but they moved it up. They announced it yesterday afternoon - gave parents no notice.

My guess is they're not opening back up.

If we have school Monday, I’ll be pissed. It’ll be for one reason and that’s to provide food to the kids.

That's one of my favorite places. I go at least every other week. I love a few of the restaurants there, my #1 is One More Noodle House. I also really like Baek Ri Hyang. My wife will probably go with today and she loves Baek Ri Hyang the most so we'll probably go there. But Chickqueen is awesome and the Pho place next to the South entrance is also really good. I used to love Hot Dynasty, but they went downhill and closed. Then CY Noodle moved into that space and was pretty good for a bit, then went downhill and closed. I think the new place is still just CY Noodle with a new name, Ume House or something.

Anyway, I'll be sure to have some Jazz gear on, so if you see a dorky fat white guy with a really short redhead (it's actually more of an auburn, but don't tell her that) feel free to say hi.

Baek ri hyang is my wife's place to go since it has some Korean stuff that's hard to do at home like jajangmyeon, Jjambbong (korean-chinese food btw, yeah) and like Ugeoji Galbitang. CY noodle has gone off a cliff and my kids really like one more noodle house. Chickqueen but Utah really needs an upgrade in the Korean Friend Chicken genre. That and the place in AF are the only chicken places from here to vegas so I still get it sometimes.

If I see you I'm definitely saying that to your wife. JK

My local markets are completely out of dry and canned goods. I'm sure glad my elderly parents who are more prone to catch the virus are going to have no means to buy food and survive. What a stupid world and people should be ashamed for the fear they are causing.

Do you believe the Obama response to SARS and the Trump response to Covid19 show a similar amount of competence? If not, why not talk about that difference?

I don't think any of us here are qualified to make an accurate estimate of the future number of infected. Thus, the citation of experts.

I've seen a lot of estimates and 150,000,000 is a huge number and bigger than most estimates off the top of my head. With that in mind, I really don't think we'll even get close to that number unless it's found that there is a huge number of unreported cases in all of the countries where this is showing up.

I don't think any president is an expert here and I don't blame them for a virus that is world renowned.

People using this as a reason to auto criticize Trump are ****ing pathetic human beings. You're better off avoiding them.
