I m worried that people in US don't use mask at all. It really helps the virus from spreading alot.

Try to avoid crowd as much as you can. People don't show symtoms for almost 2-3 weeks. Such a long incubation period

You can provide 30 links to different sources that are leveraging the same data, if you want.
  • Researchers cautioned that data examined in the study was still “very limited.”

  • The researchers emphasized that the data used in the study is “very limited” and called for additional scientific investigation to understand the virus’ evolution and epidemiology.
  • Etc

Viruses mutate. Quickly, in a lot of cases. This one has mutated. This is Duh.

Anyone who has studied RNA transcription for a minute will be verrrrrry suspicious of any research that claims to have identified two apparently stable types and linked those differences to different outcomes... using just 140 samples. That’s highly suspicious.

Haha, alrighty there Chief. Just because we disagree on the severity of the situation does not make me a clown. After all, I could just as easily say that your overreaction to this makes you the clown.

Be sure to keep buying up all of the toilet paper for a potential respiratory infection. I hear it works wonders.
I haven’t purchased a single extra roll. Any other mischararizations you need to get off your chest?

Getting the virus? Not worried. Giving to an old person? Very concerned.

Economically? Terrified.

Here comes the very long awaited down turn. Globally.

I’m ready for the long-anticipated downturn. I divested myself from the stock market a while ago, certain that Trump would finally commit enough unforced errors to pop a bubble. It turns out that the unforced error might have been canceling the government programs that think about and prepare for the kind of event that’s happening. It easily could have been something else, though... and I am a bit surprised it took this long.

In other words, there are sides to all this commotion that were absolutely predictable. I have a hard time feeling too bad for the people who are losing money after either supporting the current regime (as an investor and a voter) or after virtue-signaling that they were against it (but still left their money in the pot even though they could see the Dow was his pride and joy). Too bad for them, I guess.

Just the one about if you have a different opinion of something it doesn't make you a clown by default.

Yes, the country is being brought nearly to a hault. It's a huge disruption that may take a year or two to normalize.

Lets see if this $1.5 trillion injection from the Fed turns into more than just another bank bailout.

My only concern is what multiple to apply to public stats to get the estimate you know they ARE operating with.

It’s hard to call your position an “opinion” when you sound like someone who has stuffed his ears and is shouting one thing so loud and so often that he can’t hear whatever else might be hearable.

A close friend of mine returned from teaching English in South Korea 2 and a half weeks ago. She came back early because her school was shut down and they stopped paying her, and she was worried that she would be stuck there indefinitely with no job and get sick in those circumstances. It could get bad or really bad here, I believe. I voted 6 out of ten. All of my face to face courses were put online (I’m a university professor) and I suspect this will drive more students permanently online. So it’s definitely having an effect.

Let me be crystal clear for you then. I do not believe that this virus is nearly as serious or scary as it is being made out to be. I don't care if you have a different opinion because that is yours and mine is mine. I haven't seen anything that will change my opinion of this being overblown to date. I am sure you have your reasons for why you feel like you do, as do I.

With that being said, I wish nothing but good health to you and all other Jazz fans and your/their families. This is not something that can be understated.

Stay smart about your interactions, sanitize more than normal, and use common sense in your day to day activities.

I’ll standby until you cite your sources.

you can show that you wish nothing but good health for all of us jazz fans by not going out to restaurants. Show concern for the workers there at least. You can show that you care about the health of others by following what medical experts around the world are calling for by staying at home.

Btw, were over 3,300 cases now in the USA. That’s double from just a few days ago. We are 300 cases higher than Italy was at this stage. Italy had nearly 400 deaths today. Why wouldn’t we be similar? Does the virus especially like to kill Italians? Is our health care system really not built to be overwhelmed like Italy’s?

we’re over 3400 cases; 400 more cases than Italy at a similar stage.

we’re statistically on track to be worse than Italy. And Italy is on track to be worse than China...

I do think in the comparison to Italy, if our comparison to where they’re at is based on total numbers, that it’s important to note that they have <1/5 the population we do and we have 3x the amount of critical care beds per capita.
