Karl Malone 34 points-21 rebounds vs Bulls 92

Really? For his career, Al has barely shot over 50%, doesn't get to the line, and despite high usage has only averaged 1.3 assists per game. Timmy and Pau come to mind instantly, but there are plenty of other players who've been much more effective in post-up situations than Big Al (if you consider passing and drawing fouls skills). I've collected some data (a few weeks ago) from MySynergySports, and may post some stats if I ever decide to crunch the numbers. Hopefully this myth can be dispelled.

I've never thought that Al is the most efficient post player as you've already pointed out his efficiency (field goal % and free throws). To me skill doesn't necessarily transfer into efficiency. Shaq could barrel into people and still be efficient (Shaq did more than this of course). Nene doesn't really have a tremendous post game but is very efficient. Big Al sort of shies away from contact. For this reason, he has very few TO's as he has mastered the timing on getting his shot off. His passing is bad but is getting better. Pau Gasol may be a better offensive post player as AKMVP suggested since he has really no offensive weaknesses. His game is a bit more varied than Al's as well. Other than Pau, I really can't think of a more skilled post player (not necessarily efficient). Also, I have never really been impressed with Tim Duncan's offense during the last six years. His post work is rather simple (he's not called the big fundamental for nothing). To me, Hakeem Olajuwan is a skilled post player. Duncan is effective, no doubt. Dirk has a pretty good post game as well but seems to use it less and less (but you have Synergy; I don't). Also, apparently we need to come up with a definition of skilled because it's a loose term. To me skill should be defined in contradistinction to athleticism and physic as much as possible, that is to say, what does your skill allow you to do that your physical attributes won't allow? Allowing for the fact that your opponent is about the same size.

mysynergysports is free. It's lacking a whole lot of data that I'd like to see, but it's not terrible.

How may one procure the services of mysynergysports gratis, if I may ask? I followed the link you sent me, and it seems to require a contribution of $29.95. What's the trick, my good man?

No idea. There's a search bar when I go to that address, and I just type in "Al Jefferson", hit enter, and some stats pop up.
