The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

I just saw a report that Trump got more votes in yesterday's Pennsylvania primary than Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders combined. I guess both parties' primaries are more or less academic at this point, but more Republicans turned out to vote in Pennsylvania than Democrats.

Gen. Mattis FINALLY breaks his silence.

do you think he spoke out now because of the scene that unfolded the other night? The tear gas for a photo op? Seems like Mattis, Milley, and Esper are all speaking out at the same time and it might be for a reason.

Dumbass clip. First, it’s old as hell. Second, it’s like when Ms. Vito takes the stand on My Cousin Vinny and won’t answer the ******** question. Third, do you see Michael Crichton being asked his favorite part of Jurassic Park, or Stephen King asked his favorite line of Stand By Me every time they’re interviewed? No? Didn’t think so. People trying to trap him into self-aggrandizement and he keeps himself composed enough to not take the ****ing bait.
Lol, do you think your man actually knows the bible? Goes to church a lot? Is christ-like?

I bet stephen king does in fact know his books well.

Doubt the trumpster even knows how to read.

You want him to pimp out his own work? People would be in here bitching about how self-inflated he is, only thinking about himself. It was a ******** question.
Pimp out his own work? Lol.
I think you meant "pimp out His own work"

Weirdos.

Why would you go vote in a primary that doesn't matter at all?
Maybe these people are just bored with nothing better to do on a Monday

I guess that is why the Republican party is pushing so hard for mail on ballots to be banned.

Ya it doesn't seem like people are getting it. Do better

And it’s hard to tell when conservatives are joking around anymore either. I know that Infection is one of the smarter less Trumpy ones. But it’s hard as hell these days to tell when conservatives are joking because of all the excuses they’ve made for trump after 3.5 of just inexcusable behavior. So I guess he was joking? It wasn’t funny, I didn’t get it.

Orrrrrrrrr....
Maybe Republicans don't believe COVID is a thing, and so don't mind leaving the house to go vote.
And maybe Democrats tend to believe science matters a little more, and didn't leave the house to go vote.
So......
Maybe that's why Republicans are trying to supress mail-in ballots, because they realize that if there are no mail-in ballots, a lower volume of Democrats will actually get out and vote due to fears about COVID right when we're supposedly going to have a fall-time 2nd wave?

Sure
I still don't understand why anyone would go vote in a primary when the outcome is 100% guaranteed pre vote.
That is weird to me.
I don't mind leaving the house to go vote and am not worried about covid. Still wouldn't waste my time going somewhere to vote on something that is already decided.

I think reading into primary voting where the candidates are a foregone conclusion vs. general is not a reliable baseline.

Turnout is going to be at historical highs in November - it's the exact reason we're already seeing the chess game being played now with who should get a ballot and how.

Absolutely. I believe, and I suppose it’s more a “hope” at this stage, that Monday night was a turning point for this country. It’s true that some on Fox are saying the demonstrators are trying to “overthrow the government”(Laura Ingraham), but I believe many Americans, and hopefully lots of independents, will be put off, to say the very least, seeing peacefully demonstrating American citizens treated like they occupied a “battle space”, when they were exercising their first amendment rights in a space where many before them have done so. Last Monday night will be in the history books, is how I envision it. Something no freedom loving American should ever forget, and our top military brass are letting the public know how they feel about that event, Mattis among them.

And, right along, I have pointed out the very thing Mattis pointed out: that this is a president who has made no effort whatsoever to reach out to those Americans who did not vote for him in 2016. Zero effort to unify our nation. 100% effort to divide our country. How much clearer can it be that this man child, who will be remembered as one of the most reviled figures in our history, must go. Really, he should resign at this point.

Donald Trump believes he’s can only hold onto his base by constantly having an “enemy” to fight. It is why fighting people is really all he does. On Twitter, in press conferences, and in the militaristic stance that he so pathetically demonstrated Monday night. I think many of us know by now that the presidency, to Trump, is simply The Apprentice, Oval Office Edition. It’s nothing but his latest reality TV show. And to keep the daily ratings up there, he feels he must always be fighting. The media takes the bait, his fans love it.

Once we are rid of him, we should have some kind of national conversation that addresses the possibility, a possibility that came to actually be in Trump’s case, that we are electing celebrities from celebrity culture, rather than experienced and capable statesmen. And women. Celebrity culture, the culture that elevates the stars of reality TV shows to prominence in our public sphere, is probably not our best talent pool. Although that is surely not 100% true. But it was certainly true of Trump, who was unable to rise above being a reality TV president.

He only knows how to fight, and he only fights to keep his ratings, and his fan base. Combine that with all the negative traits and appeals to mankind’s darker urges that Trump brings to the table, and it’s all he brings, and the result has been a disaster for our nation.

Our founding fathers knew, and were concerned, that someone like Trump was a possibility. They knew the people, once entrusted with the vote, to determine their governing leaders, must be educated enough to recognize the “snakes” among our political class, the snakes that could fool the people into supporting them. Demagogues are always a possibility when people choose their leaders at the ballot box. We failed to recognize this in 2016. Not enough people recognized the demagogue that was Donald Trump. We should never be so complacent, so convinced of our system of governance, as to say “it can’t happen here”. Of course it can, given human nature, given ignorance of history, of course it can happen here. Lots of talk in very recent days about fascism in America. You know, the thing that “can’t happen here”. Well, let’s wake up in time, and throw this least among us out the door. Let’s get rid of this cancer in the White House....

Sometimes there are other things on a primary ballot like local office primaries for school board, city council, state legislature and governor.
