Potential move to Utah

What’s up everyone, my wife and I have talked about moving to Utah for awhile now.

I know timing right now isn’t ideal but want to get some thoughts on cities and if you know anywhere hiring for a job for myself. I have an Associates Degree in Business Management and am currently working on my Bachelors Degree. I have 4 years of experience working as the Business Office Manager at a Skilled Nursing Facility.

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Are you LDS?

If yes then Utah County

If no then Salt Lake County
 
You looking for hotter weather with reduced snowfall? Consider St. George - two hours from Vegas, about 4 to SLC.

Utah, Davis and SL counties are basically all burbs where you can find everything. More snowfall in winter, still hot in summer, but not St. George hot.

That's really the only metro areas of note. You could also consider Logan or Cedar City, but a bit more limited on amenities.

Pros and cons to SLC, Utah Valley, and St George ..... A bit more info would be helpful for anyone giving you tips.

Rent or house price range?

Hmmmm, I'd look St George then, mainly because of your housing budget. SLC and Utah Valley are getting outrageous. Unless you're cool living in a small apartment, which you might be and is totally fine. Still housing would be a killer up North.

Yeah, definitely looking for a house. I own one here and would be renting it out and using the extra money to pay off the mortgage quicker or use it towards a mortgage in Utah.

St George is much cheaper, you can find some 1 bedroom condos in less desirable areas for 175 - 200 in Utah Valley or SLC if you really want to be up north though. St. George has grown a **** ton over the years and is becoming a better place to live.

Is there any 3 bed 2 bath for around 150-200 in St. George you think?
 
What's the motivation for moving to Utah?

That price for a house doesn't really exist anywhere near SLC unless it's a complete ****-hole and even ****-holes probably cost more than that.

For a decent house in a cheaper area you are probably looking at around $300,000.

For instance I live in an area that most people consider to be a poorer area and a kind of bad part of the SLC valley and my house would sell for like $350,000 or something. And my house isn't very nice.

Thanks for the input, Fish. Definitely something to think about. I own a 3 bedroom 2 bath house here with brand new appliances and everything newly remodeled with a decent front and back yard and it was less than 125k.
