What's new

I’m voting Trump! Who’s with me?!

Who are YOU voting for in the Presidential election?

  • Total voters
    27
  • Poll closed .
The punishment for what you've seen the protesters outside the White House do should be... ?

Death?

A teargas canister to the face?

Baton beatdown?

Riot shield knock down?

What I think it should be is a misdemeanor citation for either civil disobedience or curfew violation (if that had actually been allowed to transpire).

I think justice should be dealt out by judges in courtrooms.

What we saw was punishment being issued by our "peace officers" in the street, to life altering effect against protesters, 95%+ of whom were peaceful.

What we saw was brutality, not by protesters, a few of whom threw things, but by and large and in an overwhelming degree by the people we employ to maintain the peace.

What we saw was a military action.

What we saw was the combination of military and civilian forces being deployed against civilians.

You see it as being probably okay.

I see it as very bad use of military force against our fellow citizens.

I love you, man. But holy ****. I hope one day you see what this was. It was ugly, it was brutal and it was an abuse. I don't say that to talk down to you. I just can't understand how people can look at this and say to themselves that "yeah, that's what our police are for." And it wasn't just the police. There were military personnel there. The military is 100% NEVER AT ALL SUPPOSED TO BE USED FOR DOMESTIC POLICING. NEVER. That's not what our military is for. Our military is for war, for military actions. They are not supposed to be used against their fellow citizens. Never.

You're going into arguments I'm not making.

I love you too, man but you're voicing an emotional opinion that you're wrong about. Read the Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act.

I'm not condoning the violent actions of the riot police, not at all. I'm just saying if you're going to poke the bear and get bit I'm also going to hold you accountable.

Stop with this 95% were peaceful. The police were called in in that force for what had been happening all across the US.

I've concluded that Trump is a better President than Joe Biden (or Kamala Harris), and I'm quite confident about it. He's accomplished a fair amount and stuck to the platform and agenda that got him elected, despite a significant amount of resistance. That's what I'm referring to when I use the word integrity.

I'm not obligated to argue with you about what you believe. You can choose what you care about and vote your conscience.

I've seen what you and others have posted on this board for years. I wouldn't say it's impressive.
Trump was more impressive than even you mention here. He stuck to everything even regardless of the truth, or facts, or even actual reality. No matter how much truth he had to batter into submission, he was up to the task. There was no fact he couldn't twist, no rule he couldn't break, no reality he couldn't supplant with his own. Truly impressive stuff.

The funniest thing about this post is that I didn't give any example of trump behaving with a lack of integrity and catchall goes straight to the media spin excuse without even having read anything in my post for the media to spin.

He realizes that there is going to be criticism of trump upcoming and goes straight to the fake news excuse before even seeing what the criticism would be.

If that isn't brainwashed then I don't know what is lol.

I really think you do better fishing,. Maybe doing yogurt too. At least I haven't stopped buying yogurt. And I still ;ole strea, trout caught above the reservoir.

What can we expect grom good ol boys who watch the news and believe it. Maybe not as deep in the coolaid as Mos who still go to meeting and believe that.

The public schools are criminal for not just failing to teach, but indoctrinating our kids with rubish.
@colton posted this link in the impeachment thread. I would love to see the transcripts of the phone calls described in this Carl Bernstein piece. I know it can be easy, and convenient if one likes and supports Trump, to simply dismiss reports like this when the sources remain anonymous. Yet, I find the national security personages that are identified here to be impressive, and their opinions of Trump damning, their conclusions describing a man who not only does not represent my nation well, but a man who evidently lacks integrity. A man who values authoritarian strong man style rule by leaders without integrity themselves, and who seeks favor with such leaders.

A wannabe mob boss cozying up to other mob boss-style leaders( and BTW, that’s exactly how Putin runs Russia, through an alliance of oligarchs, the Russian mafia, and the GRU). I myself have been pegged as someone blinded by my hatred of Trump. But, in fact, what some claim is my hatred of Trump is actually my love of country. This major piece by Carl Bernstein describes a man who has no business being America’s face to the world, a man who is a disgrace for the ages. A man who has brought a fascist strain, visible at many points in our history, directly into the Oval Office for the first time. Love of country simple leaves no room for tolerating what this man represents. I cannot love America and tolerate Trump as America’s face to the world. He really is a disgrace for the ages.....

Trump doesn't live in a bubble. He hires people who have different beliefs than his own. He fires them when he's got a reason.

When he was beginning his campaign, even before he announced his run, he paid a visit to the head of the Council of Foreign Relations, easily the club of choice for any candidate. I've heard the weekly gossip from people attending their meetings all my life. He told him his reasons for running, a nd asked for support. He told the Press honchos his reasons for running and asked for their support. He said we need to take care of our country first, and just not trash it.

But his ideas didn't meet the high standards of the globalist/socialist agenda, who fiercely believe in leveling the United States outta being a superpower politically, and taking a seat at the table according to the wisdom of the great philospher William Fulbright, who enjoyed high regard from David Rockefeller, the British royals/heirs, and who was influential with Bill and Hillary Clinton. Fulbright wrote a book "Arrogance of Power" where he advised us to mind our manners and avoid creating worldwide resentment..... as the British have been doing ever since racist Lord Cecil Rhodes pushed the progressive age into high gear.

The British genius Oscar Wilde wrote a spoof about this. His view resembled the wisdon of Confucius, the great Chinese teacher, who carefully advised his students to pretend to be less than they are, so as not to become a target for the next ambitious aspirant warlord.. The British, you see, learned to pretend not to be such imperialists because, well, they just don't have enough soldiers, really. Besides, you do better business with smiles than guns. Not that you shouldn't have guns. You should dupe some former colonial subjects to fight your wars, for sure..... or actually own a global army that permits no rival by banning all private guns and gives permits for nations to have oh just enough guns/weapons to feel secure, but not enough to depose the Crown fascist government. Napolepm was recrioted bu tje Brits to keep Britain's foes busy with one another, and save the precious English lads from dying for their own country. A brilliant strategy if you can keep it.;

Anywho, that's what Oscar Wilde's play..... "The Importance of Being Earnest" really was all about, though he made it amusing as a romance of sorts, pretty much mocking the silly women of his day, just as the Brits have learned to mock Americans.

This is also what the CIA, at it creation from the select worthies of the OSS needed, when they were divvying up Germany's top scientists at the close of WWII. And planning to carry on the good work of British imperialism ,by creating a false public narrative about a "Cold War", even though the UN was carefully "balanced" without regard for stuff like national constitutions or representative democracy. Tell me, have you ever voted for any UN official???? To serve in the elite ranks you need to be owned by somebody who can trust you. Pretty much, you have to be somebody's slave. And a loyal one at that.

In my lifetime I've seen some political figureheads forget that and start believing they had real power. The were all hissed offa the stage. Trump, whether goofball, fool, or madman...... never even got a real chance to do what the people voted for, however the Constitutional "Electoral College" works that out.

Federalism...... in it's original meaning..... as a device for breaking up power and keeping it close to the local voters somehow, is not the stuff of global fascist dreams. Irt is not "The New World Order" nor "Globalism", nor is it democracy writ large. It is Democracy writ small, writ local, as it must be if we are to give local differences the light of day.

Federalism is inconvenient for truly sociopathic bigshots who truly want to be tyrannts.

This is why I still think Trump is our best choice. Sure he's been F'd, as in Fauci'd and he got totally rolled for the socialist/globalists with the pandemic, and sure he's been worked by insiders in the bureaucracy who fundamentally believe they are the superior officials whom Presidents should carelully mind. Sure he even asked a disaffected Obama official to work for him. And boy did that make some jpeople mad.

But if we are ever going to have a country where the government works for the people, and the leaders are elected by the people, and are drawn from the people who believe in this knd of government, we need to vote against the "Establishment" that has been falsely claimed "progressive" and once again reject feudalism and leiges servants of an overlord class.

All this, and I claim to be a descendant of King George III, who after losing the war could say George Washington was the greatest leader any country had ever dhad..... because he really did not want the power.

You could say, I wrote this for SirKicky as a further essay on the "Arrogance oi Power". And while I agree in principle with Fulbright, I object to the use of the idea in supporting a turn from actual democracy, away from furthering the hopes of the poor, the disenfranchised, the slaves, the wage slaves, the working folk around the world who really want government to be answerable to them somehow.

just so you know, I edited my comment. No big deal. I accidentally made it short. LOL. But I just had to finish that sentence.

I''d cut you more slack, but you are exactly the sort of person who suffers the most from being "normal". Almost everyone..... even me..... God knows nobody can really be any kind of a part of human society without incorporating,, for convenience, massive amounts of sheer unfounded compliance.

Eve n activists who accept pay for political mobbery believe they are fundamentally rebelling against society somehow, and for a good cause, let alone the sincerely deluded.

Rather than just being dismissive of provocative views, or different views, I sometimes imagine some people want to have comments from self-avowed "loons". I have a little lake where loons land sometimes. I really appreciate their honking/squawking. I also like hanging out in bars once in a while, just to see what people are saying, and even a few other assortments of people.

But I rather think I'm more of a fly on the wall. Did you ever see that movie of the fifties.... "The Fly"?

Here's a link to some creative writing about the 1959 movie I saw, versus the 1986 remake you might have seen.

the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.

I don’t think the words “trump” and “integrity” has ever met each other in a sentence before,

If that's how you look at it, then go for it. I hope you lose sleep over it.

I was going to vote for Yang. Not voting because I hate the two-party, Team Jacob or Team Edward mentality.
Ok. Trump thanks you again, btw. It’s quite a thing to have a purity test that exceeds those of the milquetoast liberals. Congrats?

I don't need to defend my position. If you wanna shame me for it, go ahead. If you wanna translate my reasoning as to why I'm not voting then that's your prerogative. I'm sure there's some Trumpster thinking thanks for my vote for Biden too. Nice straw man though.

The guy I believed in to make the change we needed is out. Voting for the lesser of two evils (I don't think Biden is evil btw lol - just the saying) is forced and something I don't believe in. I don't want Trump in office. I don't think a 77 year old dude is a guy with enough energy to be the change this country needs.

I didn’t need an explanation of your purity test, but thanks

looks like a pretty non-conforming sort of reply..... well..... so far as all those anancronistic notions of civilization goes. But hey, they haven''t invented anything that can't be called "civilization" yet. Even the apes and monkeys and birds have some sort of notion of "nice".

Pretty sure your friends, those whom you prefer to you to be in their sway, wouldn't blanch at antything it takes to purify the sacred pages of "Progress".

I hope someday you will make a fundamental change in perspectkive and be a friend to someone who isn't just manipulating you. Just a thought.
