The Inevitable Favs Reunion

Also, we chose Dante over Jae... just saying Dante's deal could have been the filler. We missed Jae's toughness but might not have gotten JC so maybe its a wash.
Exactly my feelings. Just because a bad shot goes in doesn’t mean it’s a good shot.

More to the point, how the **** did Dante get a three year deal in the first place? That **** is maybe the worst unforced error in Jazz front office history, the trade for JC notwithstanding.

He will get a one year overpay from Miami... I bet Jae loves it there and he fits in quite well.
And Miami is still playing and winning. I echo everyone else on this, why the **** would he want to come back here?

Hey guis, we should sign Jae Crowder who is playing out of his mind, for the coolest team in the NBA, where he bought a home before even playing for them, and where he fits like a glove.

Additionally, I know Jimmy Butler is a ****ing IDIOT and huge piece of ****, but if we were feeling charitable, do you think the team that he leads to the NBA finals from total mediocrity would let us do them a favor by accepting him on our team and see if he destroys it or not? I know the Heat bent heaven and earth to get him there despite having no cap space, but it just seems like it’s not working out for them.

You forgot to mention we are only offering the vet min or half of the MLE. That should be plenty for those kinds of scrubs. Don't want to overpay.

Miami is ****ing 10-1 in the playoffs and playing some of the most inspired basketball I’ve seen in years (2014 Spurs to be precise). The idea that they’re gonna let go of their absolute most important piece and a key addition that fits everything they’re trying to do is offensively stupid.

Jae was a fan favorite - you should never let those guys go. I felt the same way about DeMarre Carroll and Paul Millsap- who SURPRISE also put up much bigger stats after leaving. Are the Jazz really having this much trouble evaluating what they need from the 4 spot?

Yep. We have made so many stupid decisions. Kind of demoralizing when you consider how many completely moronic decisions we have made.

Sacrificing Jae for the stupid Conley deal is just added to the list.

Yes... we can offer cash... say 3-4 M. They will want to operate over the cap anyway so doesn’t cost them space. Gives them a free or quality vet at a minimum cost. Might require a second but that’s fine.

Just sucks for DL to have to go ask for the cash to do it. Would assume Favs takes less than the minimum too.

DL should ask for cash because he should be fired after the failed Conley, Ed Davis and Green experiment

Jae loved it here and wanted to stay and recruit others. Thanks for trading him DL, you stupid idiot.

Let's not overrate Jae Crowder, the year he is having in Miami could not have been predicted in any way by DL. Calling him an average player at the time would have been most generous. Also before traded to Miami, he played 45 games in Memphis and was abysmal. His career numbers are much closer to his Jazz days than the outlier Miami year.

Jazz 2018/19
FG: 39%
3PT: 33%

Miami 2019/20
FG: 48%
3PT: 44%

He is still better than Conley, Davis, Green and Exum
