The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Since I was busy. Politico is as anti Trump as it gets.

Speaking with Fox News’ John Roberts, Fauci denied that he ever heard the president “distort” the threat of the coronavirus and maintained that Trump’s presentations to the public were largely in line with discussions he’d had with medical experts. When asked whether he ever felt Trump was downplaying the severity of the coronavirus, Fauci said no.

Thanks for the response. I can certainly appreciate this, but I think what we're reading here is Fauci being tactfully supportive of the administration in order to remain in a position where he can have a positive impact. People who disagree with Trump have an established history of finding themselves, well, 'fired'. Trump's own words tell a pretty clear story: "I wanted to always play it down. I still like playing it down, because I don’t want to create a panic.”

So, good for Fauci for being a team player; it doesn't change the indisputable fact that the record of Trump's own words (not just the above quote) prove that he, at best, misled the public and handicapped the effective efforts of our institutions to deal with this pandemic, both proactively and reactively. If you can't see this, I hope you'll consider whether you're subjecting yourself to dogmatic thinking (i.e. accepting ideas, beliefs, etc. as definitive simply because they came from a perceived authority). Think, my man, and let the other side of the coin take root just enough to doubt your own beliefs a little bit.

I could copy/paste the entire article cited below (there are countless of these, if you don't like the source), which is nothing more than a contrast of Trump's recorded words to Bob Woodward vs. how he twisted those same points when presenting them to the American public. That's a bit heavy-handed, so I'll just include the link here, and encourage you to read it and draw your own conclusions.

Thank you for the well thought out response. I get a ton of flack here but outside of one or two posters they usually resort to flat out meanness. And yes, I reply in kind.

Trump no doubtedly botched this but who really didn't? Hell, Gavin Newsom took a solid approach at first but look at California skyrocketing as we speak. There are professionals to this day that are still clueless and are changing their stances by the day.

One of the head CDC guys was just saying how a mask is meant to protect the wearer not others. After months of the same CDC saying otherwise.

You have months of pushing fear saying 100,000+ million people are dying, then it turns out the virus itself has only killed less than 10,000.

You have governors putting infected in with elderly when it was well known that elderly were on of the highest at risk

You had politicians on both sides celebrating Chinese New Year and other festivities.

You have millions protesting and being supported

Hell this very board people were pushing a crazy narrative that 75-150,000,000 would get sick and millions would die in the US alone. So in their regard people like red, fish, game face, zombie should be praising Trump.

I'm busy at work and I'd like to go on but I hope my point is being made that nobody really took this seriously. I'll say it again, Trump most definitely failed but even his professional team and teams across the entire world failed.

This just reminded me of a few of you since you openly promote this. Trump is not the problem and never was. You are Donald Trump.

Oh and what's your thoughts on some prominent Democrat figures threatening civil war wanting to kill people like me if Trump does his job and constitutionally put in a Justice?

Your party is filth

I mean you have Democrats literally terrorizing people, executing people, calling for civil war and you radically stay silent but all you ever do is childishly take things intentionally out of context to manufacture hate.

Here I'll even give you all an out. If any one of you can find me a single post by @colton that is a pro Republican stance that happened in the last 3 months I will leave political threads for 3 months.

Good find.

This is unreal. Imagine the outrage we’d be having if this was a foreign leader saying these same things? We’d be looking at potential sanctions and defensive measures. Especially when you see his history, Caging children and forced sterilization of migrants.

Every post in support of the Lincoln project was pro-Republican, since that is a Republican group.

Don't worry, no one thinks you were serious in your offer.

Felt this one needed to go here.

imagine if Hillary or obama had said this about evangelicals? I mean, I remember the outrage when she (accurately) labeled a segment of our population as “a basket of Deplorables.” That was without putting kids in cages or forced sterilizations. Trump has actions to support his hateful rhetoric.

Im shocked at how little attention this is getting. I guess we just don’t have any standards anymore for anything. Replace the term “refugees” with “Mormons, Jews, Tutsi, etc” and you see how depraved this speech is. This is hate speech. Few leaders in the world do this. Trump joins just a handful of world leaders (none of them are our allies) to speak like this. It would get anyone else in America fired from their jobs.

Instead, Trump retains 40 percent of the population and maintains a decent chance of winning the presidency because of the electoral college. Which, goes to show how we need to abolish it. The EC was supposed to prevent tyranny, instead, it’s preserving it.

Just think how different this election would be right now if all that mattered was the popular vote? Trump would have to at least pretend to be moderate or else face a complete blowout.

@colton

it’s been made clear that there was an offer with regard to your posting patterns and beliefs. I believe you can now fairly institute a 3-month time out. Just a couple of clicks away, my friend. Tia.

If there is anyone on earth that fits into a basket of deplorables it's Hillary 1A and Trump 1A. If an actual not disgusting human being would have said that the backlash might have been lessened a bit.

I cannot think of a better description of Trumpers. You might not like it, but Hillary’s description was dead on. Sorry if it wasn’t PC enough for you, snow flake.
