An unfortunate side effect of Trump is he's gotten so deep under the skin that people have normalized the outlandish and irrational thoughts they were once embarrased to express openly. They can no longer help themselves but out child the baby.

Regarding Trump, he clearly drives his haters insane. It seems like if he takes a policy position on anything that they are somehow compelled to rush in and take the opposite side. If he takes an action they cannot refrain from explaining to the world how it is the most corrupt and underhanded action ever taken in the history of humanity. It's the craziest mind-control trick that I've ever witnessed. I t's like The Carbanaro Effect to the one millionth power.

Would be nice to have a president that didn't have that effect on that much of the population.

I’ve never gotten the appeal of a president who pisses off other Americans. I don’t recall ever wanting Obama to piss off conservatives. I remember getting excited over the ACA as it helped extend insurance for millions and covered pre-existing conditions. But I never remember Thinking “man look at how many conservatives Obama triggered by enacting health care reform!” High five!

Fwiw I don't think it's appealing to Joe bagadonuts that Trump has this effect on his haters. I don't think he likes it. I think he wishes that Trump's haters would be more reasonable.


I however wish trump would be more reasonable and always say, trump made his bed by his own actions and this is the result.

What Joe needs to understand is that there is a direct correlation between how much trump gets hated and how many haters he has in relation to how many morally questionable actions he has throughout his history.

I always see Trumpers talk about negative things other presidents or politicians have done and I always respond like this:

Trumper (could be Joe bagadonuts in this case) go ahead and pick your politician to compare to trump (let's say Obama in this case. Or Biden) and we will have a competition.
You post 1 morally questionable thing that the politician of your choice has done in his history.
Then I will post 1 thing trump has done.
Repeat over and over. Let's see who runs out of examples first.

I'm 100% certain that the trumper would run out examples first every time. Trump received the hate he gets because of the things he says and does. Lots of politicians have done horrible things. Trump has done all the horrible things that they have done and then some all by himself.

Bill clinton cheated on his wife but only once (that we know of). Trump cheated on 3 of his wives. While they were pregnant. One of them with a pornstar that he paid to keep quite.

There are many examples like this. I can't think of any politicians who created a fake university however. Except trump.

I don't remember Obama ever uttering the phrase "the right". Trump is all about attacking "the left" however.

I was driving behind a truck a few days ago and it had a Trump 2020 sticker. Also had a sticker saying are you a Democrat or an American. Also had a sticker saying democrats are full of ****.

That is simply divisive and ugly to me. Trump would love it. He loves division and ugliness.

From how I'm reading it, Bag thinks that the reaction to Trump that many of us have is completely unfounded and lacks any substance at all. That we have all been programmed to oppose Trump because Trump. He doesn't see any reasonable cause for our (my) reaction to Trump other than that we (I) have been duped into it by the evil forces (deep state/media) that are trying to destroy Trump because he threatens to stop their evil ways.
