What's new

The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Forgotten passcodes -- you remember many passcodes/words you haven't used in over a year?
Screen damage -- phones get dropped. We just replaced one.
Loss of device -- we've also had phones left in places
Intentional deletion -- Of what? Every text message, every email, every google document is stored on the carrier's database
What other reasons?

This sounds like someone making a big deal out of nothing. I notice what you didn't say: that actual records were lost.

1. Like I said, the amount of effort you have to go through to wipe your phone via wrong passcode is long. No way they are stupid enough to just pound numbers for hours.
2. Screen damage doesn't effect recovering data in any way.
3. Sure I guess. Still technologies make it pretty tough to never find that phone again
4. Yes, I agree.

So none of your above reasons pass the bull **** test.

I agree, completely. Now, go back and read JazzyFresh's post about how these methods were used to "wipe" phones, and ask yourself if that represents a legitimate complaint.

“The records show at least several dozen phones were wiped of information because of forgotten passcodes, irreparable screen damage, loss of the device, intentional deletion or other reasons — and came before the DOJ’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) could review the devices,” Fox News reported. “The OIG opened an investigation into possible bias in the origins of the Russia Investigation, but determined that the FBI complied with policies in launching the politically explosive probe. Still, the OIG flagged ‘significant concerns with how certain aspects of the investigation were conducted and supervised.'”

The quote is odd. "The records show at least several dozen phones were wiped of information". So forgotten passcodes, intentional deletion, losing phones would be intentional sabotage by those that owned the phones imo. The broken screens appear to be just 1 piece of the pie.

Jizzyfresh - "Someone please talk to me!!?"
@Ron Mexico
Just ANOTHER example of how these guys act then most here blame me and even tattle to mods when I respond in kind.

A guy and his staff investigating the highest office imaginable literally breaking, whitewashing, and misplacing phones with intel and evidence. No matter how anyone tries to spin it, that is obstruction.

We just agreed that none of those methods would actually get rid of pertinent data. Some of these "wipes" are from 2018, when they were in the middle of the investigation. So, do you believe there is a scandal here, and if so, what would it actually be hiding?

To me, this is just Judicial Watch trying to make sure the money keeps flowing by representing standard stuff as something else.

It's only obstruction if it happened during Horowitz's investigations. These occurrences go back to 2018.

I enjoyed it

It's interesting to me personally to watch that, to hear the comment about narcissistic America's "fear-based, dopamine-based system", and do some self-reflection. In this 587-plus-page thread, how many comments have essentially been re-postings of Nerf-ish potshots taken by either Trump/Trump advocates or opponents of Trump, either on Twitter or some other social media platform, as if that were all we need to have a substantive conversation and draw broad-yet-accurate conclusions about the state of things? I just re-posted 2 minutes of a 5-minute YouTube video to make this point, in fact. I wonder, do we even have our own thoughts anymore, or are we simply going to remain tranquilized by the regular chemical rush accompanying each mouse click or screen tap? Our collective ADD and magnetic attraction to one end or the other of the political spectrum within this little sub biome is an ironic illustration: Our weak ability as Americans to absorb or communicate anything of substance on a consistent basis, should just maybe give us reason to stop and acknowledge how unsurprising it is we have elected officials who 100% reflect that same mental and ethical laziness. We consume garbage and post 280 characters about it on the commercial break, and so does our president. How surprising is that, really?

Anyway. I dunno.

Trump sucks, and he's nobody anybody can reasonably say they want to emulate; but he's our responsibility, reflects our collective (sub?)consciousness as a country, and it's our fault he's our president, no matter on which side of the proverbial aisle we sit. I will vote against him because I want him gone, but that's a meaningless gesture-- I think most of us know we need to do much, much better than Joe Biden. Changing public discourse, and thereby fixing the political atrocity that is our government, starts with us-- with whether or not we're willing to make the inward journey toward being better as individuals and communities, and therefore deserving and ultimately receiving better representation. Then perhaps the choices in front of us with each election become not merely more palatable, but actually desirable.

Everyone needs to watch "the social dilemma" on netflix. For me it was a gut punch. For my 18 y.o. daughter too. It outlines the addictive and destructive nature of social media. Very sobering.

Did you read the thing that Jazzy posted?

Here is what he quoted in his post:

“The records show at least several dozen phones were wiped of information because of forgotten passcodes, irreparable screen damage, loss of the device, intentional deletion or other reasons — and came before the DOJ’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) could review the devices,” Fox News reported. “The OIG opened an investigation into possible bias in the origins of the Russia Investigation, but determined that the FBI complied with policies in launching the politically explosive probe. This is a bureaucracy. People have to fill out form A23v47f22, they have boxes that need to be checked. Out of a completely unknown number of phones, that were not being subpoenaed or under any particular scrutiny, some number of bureaucrats checked the "data unrecoverable" box a few dozen times.

The language "wiped" is being applied to make this seem nefarious, when the reality is that what actually happened is that this data was considered "unrecoverable" most likely because there was almost no interest in recovering it.

Until someone can say how many total devices had recoverable data compared to the ones with unrecoverable data, who the phones with unrecoverable data belonged to (and why that would lead to speculation/suspicion), and specifically why each of the phones were deemed to have unrecoverable data, this is meaningless.

More impeachable offenses.

The criming never ends. All these folks know what the Orange god king wants. So in order to preserve their own jobs or move up the ladder, they know what to do. It’s affecting every aspect of our federal (and state) governments. Look at how Ron DeSantis panders to Trump by preventing schools from reporting their Covid numbers (some districts are ignoring the governor’s mandate).

Well I mean we don't totally know what trump is. New stuff comes out almost daily whether it's lying to the public about the severity of covid (downplaying it) or trash talking our troops.

There might be even lower levels to trump, you just never know. Could find out tomorrow that he has had sex with a bunch of 12 year old girls on epstein island. Maybe the day after tomorrow we find out that he is a plant for a foreign government and attempting to take down the USA.

Wouldn't be that shocking I guess for either of those things to come out but I digress.

No negative accusation about Trump could ever shock you because you've bought into the narrative that he is one of the most loathsome people in the history of this planet. Anyone who gets involved in even slightly questioning any negative media claim about him on this site is quickly buried by the Trump haters. These people don't care that claims are being made not merely without evidence, but in the face of contradictory evidence. They believe they are winning their arguments, but in reality the people with happy and productive lives are just realizing, one by one, that they'd rather walk away than breath in the toxic fumes being spewed in the JazzFanz.political forums. The last several pages, which I just visited and read, tell me that nothing around here has changed. I'm not surprised by many of the usual haters, but I'm sad that they can so reliably count fish among their ranks.

Trump isn’t to blame for all of life’s problems, but he is a jerk. Always has been even before his presidency.

He’s morally bankrupt which is my main issue with him. I can’t respect anyone with a set of ethics such as him.

Damn snowflake I simply said that new stuff comes out about trump almost daily (true) and that I wouldn't be surprised by anything that Trump would do (also true)

Buck up camper. Life is good

Btw, I have always hated trump every bit as much as the "usual haters" you speak of. This isn't a new condition for me. I have hated him since before he became president. A lot of Trumpers probably did as well.

Michael Cohen's Daughter Reveals How She Was Sexualized by Donald Trump as a Teen

As Cohen details in the book, it was a hot summer day in 2012 when he was standing with Trump outside the pool area at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, discussing “some pressing business matter, like the size of the breasts of a woman sunbathing on a lounge chair.” Cohen writes that he remembers Trump whistling and looking over at the tennis courts: “Look at that piece of a**,” Trump said. “I’d love some of that.” Little did Trump know, he was talking about Cohen’s then 15-year-old daughter. Cohen turned to Trump and said, “That’s my daughter.”

Cohen’s book continues to recount the uncomfortable anecdote: “That’s your daughter? When did she get so hot?” Trump said. Cohen writes that he didn’t respond but remembered thinking, “Who talks about a man’s daughter in that way?” And when Samantha approached her father and gave him a kiss on the cheek, Trump apparently asked for one too — to which the teen “complied with a tiny peck.” Cohen writes that Trump then offered him a “bro-like bumped fist” after questioning Samantha about her looks. “When did you get such a beautiful figure?” Trump said. “You better watch out because in a few years I’ll be dating one of your friends.”

Just trump being trump. Nothing to see here
