I mean seriously, what would Charlotte have to send us for Conley?

Pros :
we avoid the luxury
we pick up whatever asset Charlotte sends
we can use the BAE since we would be that far under the luxury

Cons:
we lose Conley

I love Charlotte too. Okay now does anyone want Batums deal with no matching salary coming back... crickets... tumbleweeds... then off in the distance Sam Presti is sighted with a reaper outfit... I will take him... but it will cost you... your SOUL! Or maybe a first rounder would work.

Lopo, if it should come to it, is it too early to come up with some possible trade scenarios for Rudy? Too early for a thread about it?

They have to clear his salary though... so they are looking for no money or less money coming back. Basically OKC can help them with one of their big *** trade exceptions or they are screwed.
I actually hope this blows up in their face, maybe Charlotte finds something else in the meantime (would be cool if AD signed there), and then Hayward is SOL and has to take that Cleveland MLE.
it already kind of has. If you were thinking up worst/best case scenarios for Hayward’s stay in Boston it doesn’t get much better than how it played out.

Hayward will either not live up to his contract or have an Orlandoesque run at the 8 seed. Maybe he demands a trade and then three teams fan bases end up seeing him as a disappointment... his jersey will hang in zero nba rafters and his business will end unfinished.

Really, the no brainer trade, should we need to do it due to Rudy's extension, is to trade Rudy for John Collins. It's a current All Star for a probable future All Star. Just an added bonus that Collins and Don are such good friends.

If we would get Collins, I don't want Capella too (mainly because of contract). I'd look at Rudy for Collins, Huerter, and expirings.

Also the Hayward saga will likely now last until Thanksgiving... that is what I am hoping for... Bill Simmons taking a bite of his vegan tofu turkey then getting the alert that there is no sign and trade and then having to go in the other room and listen to Pearl Jam on his Sonos home speakers.

Capela would have to be in the deal. He could go to a third team though for an expiring and an asset. The Rudy extension lasts until after Black Friday I’ll start to get nervous. I’d make the Hawks give up a wing too.

Why would Atlanta do it?

There are a ton of rumors that Atlanta will probably deal Collins. If you look at the most recent ESPN Insider article I link a few posts ago, they talk about Collins moving quite a bit.

Atlanta wants to win right now. They just spent $20 million a year on Gallinari and Bogdon Bogdonavic. Gobert takes that team to a very legit level and is much better than Capella.

Our little Gordon is up to $330,000,000 in career earnings based on salary. Wonder how much he'll total in endorsements? Staggering money for a guy who is not even close to a superstar.

Yeah he really took that one All-Star appearance to the bank.

I don't show that. Per Basketball Reference, he's made about $151M.

Just skim read Tony Jones article for today... we are done with signings. NWG will make the roster and we will have an empty roster spot going into the season. Which is fine... can sign a guy or do a 1 for 2 trade.

Id almost rather just cut NWG and have two roster spots open. Takes us further from the tax.

whatevs I guess... but I would not expect any additions. Mission accomplished I guess.
When do we start making a big deal out of the LACK of an extension for Rudy?
