You think so?

I think everyone knows I’m not a big Condiddley fan, but MC, DM, Royce, Bojan, and Rudy can get the job done.
In a vacuum, Ingles should not play a single minute without Gobert on the floor since their chemistry is so good and since Gobert isn't above having his defensive effort impacted by his offensive involvement. Conley hasn't shown very good chemistry with Gobert and has spent all but last year pounding the air out of the ball. Mitchell's gonna try to put up 30 every game, and Bojan will put up any shot that looks half good. Royce is unselfish but not exactly sick at setting people up.

I'm a Debbie Downer. Ingles has been the third best/most important player on this team for the previous three seasons and his chemistry with Gobert is a huge part of that (not to mention that it's good with basically everyone... except Conley).

If it were me, I’d start:

Donovan
Shaq
Ingles
Bojan
Gobert
I'd roll with the lineup we know is our best (and that we will probably rarely see now, somehow):

Don
Royce
Joe
Bojan
Rudy

I know they got to take care of everyone's egos, but the Jazz need to find a way to put that lineup out as much as possible. If they wanna try making Favors a pure backup most of the time, they could still start Conley but sub him out at minute 4:00 for Joe at each quarter.

First half of the season the starting lineup was clunky AF. That was Conley not able to hit a shot + isoDonovan.

Quin would never do it, because Mike Conley is getting paid too much, and is in a contract year but the 1st and 2nd lineups I'd like to see would be:

Starters:
C- Gobert
PF - Bogdanovic
SF - Ingles
SG - O'Neale
PG - Mitchell

Bench:
PG - Conley
SG - Clarkson
SF - Morgan
PF - Favors
C - Udoka

Conversely, the starting lineup is gonna be clunky.
The Heats lineup was clunky in LBJ’s first season in Miami. The key is DM Conley figuring things out. The only difference is Wade, LBJ>>> DM, Conley. I thought they played with a lot more harmony in the bubble, and they should only improve with a year under their belt.

I think Conley struggled because he was on a new team for the first time in his long career, in one of the more complicated systems, and it caused him to struggle with his shot. He wasn’t comfortable and it got in his head. The various injuries probably didn’t help. I’m hopeful we will get a different Conley this year.

It depends on how your count the bench. I think the starting unit will be Conley, Mitchell, Bojan, favors, Gobert. But favors and Conley will come out early. I'm most excited to see what favors and Conley can do together in the second unit. But if they don't have good chemistry then let the favors ingles show get a lot more burn.

I think Conley should start, I think him and DM can make it work. Also want to see O’Neale at sf. Ingles has a chance to find a home on the bench with Favors as his pick’n roll partner. This gives both DM and Conley more time with ball in hand and Ingles makes the second unit better.

Why would the jazz pair Conley and Favors over Favors and Ingles who already have a built in chemistry, where as Conley has none with Favors.

I will also say most of what I’ve heard leads me to believe Favors will mostly come off the bench, but play some 4 when the matchup calls for it. Also is his body in the condition it needs to be to start at the 4 or is it carrying mor wait a center needs. I don’t have that answer but I’m pretty sure he only played center last year tho that’s a big ? IMO.
