That was the era of Floater Problem. I think things got better with that group.
It was especially frustrating because I thought we had understood that floaters were the worst shot ever and they'd be gone... then it was like floaters on floaters on floaters.

Who would have thought that the shots our defense is designed to concede are bad shots...
Floaters are one thing... pullup 15 footers are another, uncontested pullup 15 footers is even another thing.

The basic design of the defense is fine. Its that we don't get any pressure on the ball handler and become too robotic/predictable. Letting Murray and Jokic get whatever perimeter look they wanted when they weren't missing was so frustrating.

Those were dark times. It had taken me some time to come around on Conley, but by that time I had consumed substantial amounts of koolaid, and was convinced we’d be seeing a totally spread floor with one of four different ball handlers running a PnR with Rudy... Any double team would be death via 3-pnter. Never materialized.

We fixed the worst of the floater problem, but we never really figured out how to maximally punish teams for taking the rim away from Rudy on the roll.

We another above-the-break 3-pt shooter. If Oni and do this + play D, then he could become super valuable

There were like two plays this year that trended on twitter where we kept ping-ponging the ball all across the floor, with the defense scrambling the whole possession, that leads to us hitting a three. We all kinda thought that was going to be nearly every possession. Yeah, we got two of them.

We might dump Morgan, Oni, and others by March to avoid the luxury. That is extremely high pressure - if you don't perform then....yikes.

I think I had examples of compliment vs complement in my signature for well over a year, back in the day. But then I gave up because some people just wouldn't learn.
I do have a lot of complements for how hard to you work on this.

I’m not allowing myself to dream of scenarios where Mike isn’t starting.
This. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some clause in his contact, or at least a gentlemen's agreement that he will always start regardless of the situation.

Better than last year... still not amazing IMO. Especially past the top 9 or so... I guess not many teams are deeper than 9-10 useful players anyways, so it shouldn't be a huge problem. This team will go as far as Mitchell and Gobert take it.

5-10 are an a minus
11+ are a C minus

if we lose 2 rotation players it will not be pretty
