I don't hate Conley; I just think that if we bag on anybody for not performing, it should be the guy who doesn't fit all that well and makes $34.5 million.

I've always felt that he just doesn't care about basketball. He doesn't love the sport, he doesn't follow the NBA, he works off the prep notes provided to him and happily cashes the paychecks, but he doesn't care about the game. It's obvious football is his first and only love. Basketball is a job, and that's about it. Every time I listen to bolerhack I really miss hot rod, who not only was the master of turn-a-phrase broadcasting, but he obviously loved the sport, and it always came through. Boler does what most people do who are just working a job: barely enough to keep the job. He just doesn't care and it shows.
 
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the issue was that one if the first note sheets he received listed Elijah as Eliza so he went with that, then just never read any of them that corrected it. So now he'll be Eliza forever. Boler doesn't care enough to read the new note sheets close enough to correct the mistake.

So you hate Conley because he isn’t a good fit for the team and makes too much. First the jazz chose to trade for him and he signed his deal with another team and not going to criticize him for making as much money as another team was willing to pay him, this is stupid,

The question at hand was "who is the scapegoat"? Why do I have to hate somebody just because I would rather "scapegoat" Conley who makes $34. 5 than Royce who makes less than $9?

There are a number of Jazz players who I really liked who I thought should be traded. For example: I was a huge AK fan, but he just didn't have as much value for us at SF when Booz occupied PF. AK would have served us better in a trade than staying with. I felt the same way about Kanter a long time before we decided to trade him for peanuts.

I like Conley, but he's a bad fit and he's overpaid.

My hell you’re an idiot. Then have the ****ing problem with the people that made the trade to bring him here, it’s not like Conley took a big dump on the franchise. Have a problem with management for not trading AK or whatever. I didn’t want Conley in the first place but I sure as hell root for him as hard as the rest of the players. Have you no decency? Idiot!!

There were also a few nights a year that Hot Rod had a few before the broadcast and those were fantastic. Don’t make me cry today okay... I loved that drunk bastard.
 
So here’s the deal... Conley has looked really good so far. His defense will leave something to be desired but if the bench defense is better we will be solid enough on that end. I ain’t gonna trash the guy if he’s playing well and just kinda fitting in... I also don’t think there is a huge deficiency on the roster or a big trade market for him. In short I think Mike is better than what we could get for Mike... so why complain.

I have no problem with putting the square peg into a square hole. In fact, I prefer it. I’m just glad we were creative enough to find such an abstract solution.

They had to carve a new hole in the sex machine for it but the hole fits and doesn't distract from the other functions.

I’m almost there, too. But I still sometimes feel like he isn’t “bringin’ it” ... or focused enough ... or committed... or something like that.

I have a hard time looking past that.
 
Imagine how high we'd be on Hughes if there were a Summer League this year?

Between Hughes and the Gobert signing, I think the clock is ticking on Royce. He better be a 3&D monster this year.
