What the Jazz are doing, is not working

Quinn's offensive scheme is not working. Not only that but the emphasis seems to me, to be on getting open three's and if the Jazz are missing, it opens things up for the other team so that the Jazz have to scramble back on defense which gives our opponents opportunities for open three's and renders Rudy useless. Things need to change.

Quin deserves some blame for sure. I kind of wish he'd just let Donovan go out there and be the offense and get away from his scheme when it's not working, and it hasn't been.

There’s no mystery here. Mitchell and Bogdanovic have been awful. When you have two key players playing so many minutes and so poorly, you’re going to look bad.

They’re better players than this and will get better as the season comes along. But don’t let anyone tell you that continuity is worth anything more than a catchy buzzword in a tweet or article.

One of the traits that I admire in Quin is that he is pretty stable and he doesn't over react to the lows or the highs with players. I would be way too volatile. But, when things aren't working, he has to give other players opportunities. It was just stubborn to only play 8 players last night.

If quin want a faster pace offense, why not play younger and more athletic guys like shaq, Oni and Hughes. Sure Bojan and Ingles are proven shooters with higher chance of hitting those open threes but once they miss those shots they are basically liabilities in transition D. So why not adjust your rotation accordingly instead of forcing your current personnel into a whole new setting that they are not accustomed to.

The players are playing like **** and making bad decisions. No “scheme” in the world executed in such a manner will look good or succeed.

Mitchell has to start playing like a professional athlete playing a team-sport or this season is going to be one of the most disappointing in franchise history.

Bogey and Ingles are actually great in transition. It's a myth that transition is all about being fast and athletic. Those are the players that this would work for. Mitchell is actually a horrific transition player despite being a fast athlete. It's also a myth that shooting 3's leads to worse transition defense. Missed layups and floaters are what lead to poor transition defense.

The Jazz used 8% of their scoring in transition. That is dead last.

This team is 100% reliant on the 3. You take that away and the they become plenty beatable. On the other hand if they are hitting 3's and get hot they can beat anybody and become unstoppable.

We have so many creators and 3pt shooters that it's going to be very rare that literally everyone on the team is having an off night. Bogdanovic was a decoy last night, but Conley picked up the slack by being brilliant. The Jazz have some of this versatility built into their system.

So, after just 5 games, this scheme doesn’t work? 5 games? The OP is an idiot. The jazz destroyed Portland and basically dominated the Clippers, lost to a suns team with one loss and is first in the west. Yes, we lost to the wolves but that doesn’t count they are always good for one win over us each year, and yet Quin’s system isn’t working, ok.

Jazz, like most nba teams these days, are a make or miss team for the most part. If shots (especially 3's) are falling then they are fantastic. If not then they aren't that good. Fortunately I think that the jazz are one of the best shooting teams in the league and I think they will be fine and finish in the top 4 in the west.

Honestly I'm not concerned at all about our game plan and I really can't understand why many Jazzfans want to change it.
I mean, we are 3-2 with basically no Bojan and the poor twin of DM instead of spida.
BB has a physical issue so the more he plays the quicker he'll get in shape. I'm quite confident about that.
Concerning Donovan, I really don't know if he has a physical issue too or it's just his state of mind, but I'm sure he is the first person who is disappointed about how he's playing...he'll be fine, pretty sure about it.
Conley finally is playing like Conley used to, not too much surprised.
Gobert is dominating, as he wants to prove to the world that he is actually worth the deal he signed.
JC and Jingles know what to do.
Favs instead of Bradley off the bench is priceless...
The game plan is good...IMO we have to trust Quin and the players.

Let's go Jazzfanz, this will probably be one of the greatest seasons for us...let's enjoy it!!
