Clarkson for Sixth Man Award

Ingles is obviously the better player overall but the only thing voters for 6th man of the year seem to care about is scoring, so Clarkson will probably be in the running.

Clarkson's been great so far, hope he's in contention for it (Joe should be too, but his stats are less what they seem to look for).

Through two games I would say clarkson has been the better scorer and better player overall. Clarksons defense so far this year has been pretty darn good

If he learns to pass once in a while instead of driving headlong into ****** shots he'll be just about the best player on the team, at least so far. DM done got paid, don't need to perform now.

Burks so far this year:
28 minutes per game
21 points per game (53.1% from the field, 66.7% from 3, and 90% from the line)
4 rebounds per game
4 assists per game
+21 in plus/minus

Will be interesting how clarkson and burks compare this seasons statistically (both guys are pretty much the same age. Burks is a year older)
Right now the edge goes to AB by a bit. (clarkson is averaging 19 points on 48/42/83 shooting percentages and 5 rebounds and 0.5 assists. On 22.5 minutes per game)
AB is listed at 6-6 and 214 pounds and Clarkson is listed at 6-4 and 194 pounds (looks bigger than that to me)
AB is making 6 million this season. I think Clarkson is making 13.5 million.
interesting comparison.
One other interesting thing is burks has been in the nba since the 11-12 season and Clarksons rookie year was in the 14-15 season yet they are only a year apart in age.

So an update here. Apparently Clarkson leads the league in bench points. Other contenders were Levert (traded to Indiana and probably starting), Dinwiddie (injured), Lou Williams (minutes dropped from like 28 to 18 this year), and then Harrell (because LA).

If any of the above trends remotely continue, and if we finish anywhere in the west close to where we are now, Clarkson should have a strong argument despite big market bias. It would be hard to ignore the points which, to be honest, is most of what we know they’re looking at.

It's hard to believe how much Clarkson has improved since joining the Jazz. Watching him on the Lakers and Cavs, I never would have dreamed he would turn into this good of a player. He's gone from a low efficiency chucker who took a lot of long 2's to an efficient scorer who takes mostly 3's and shots at the rim.

He should get it. Clarkson is definitely the best 6th man in the league.

You can just give him the ball and tell him to get buckets. Dude has a big bag of tricks. His floaters are the best on the team. It's really crazy to watch how much he has improved.

We got him by trading a guy who was averaging 2.2 points per game. You could say we included two second round picks, but you’ve all seen how DL just burns those or uses them as stocking stuffers. We got Clarkson for a guy averaging 2.2 points per game and had an additional $10M on his deal.

This guy is plug n play, he goes in and starts firing, doesn't need any warm up, very efficient inside. The impressive part is hes starting to pass and you can see his defense is improving.

He just broke Harts ankle and tried to end Hayes with a dunk. But it didn't go in sadly.

What I've noticed this season is he is looking to pass more than he was, granted still not a big part of his game but the effort is noticeable. Also his defensive intensity is much stronger than last year. He's fully bought in and it shows. Love it!

Just listened to a ringer podcast this AM that mentioned how they didn't believe the Jazz were definitely better than the Warriors and that the Warriors bench unit was far better being led by Eric Paschall.... I just wanted to yell at them through the internet. We have three bench players better than him but they beat the Lakers the other night when Lebron got caught playing with his food... so I guess that is what they put into the webz.

JC is #22 in scoring per 36 in the league. Right behind Trae Young and DM.

JC is top 40 in TS% in the league... he's getting a ton of buckets and doing so with fantastic efficiency. Also grabbing rebounds and playing passable defense.

Just let the league keep sleeping on this guy... they don't deserve him.

JC is obviously outstanding in his role...but part of me wonders if we're holding him back. He's already usurped Ingles in the rotation...but he should probably also take Bogey's role. JC is simply a better player than Bogey right now.
