I hate this part of the NBA. A team should be limited on how many times they can sign buyout players.

15min till deadline and still no news from all the major players like Houston, Dallas, Lakers, New York, Cleveland. Surprising

Lots of deals are reported after the deadline comes and goes. Happens every year.

Who is this Matt Thomas only averages 2 points a game why can’t we get a scorer the nuggets got Aaron Gordon they got a little better no use getting a player that isn’t going to impact games or won’t get any minutes

The one time he got 20+ mins, 22 to be exact, he scored 15 points and hit three threes. Lots of people have asked why he isn’t getting more mins. I think if the jazz have any real plans for him, he will have zero problems scoring.

Matt thomas....the juggernaut the jazz needed.

The name describes his shooting very nice.

If they didnt trade him they arent going to buy him out. It's not like a situation where he wasnt tradeable and is a toxic presence.

Actually the more I look at Thomas highlights, the more I think he's going to play big minutes under Quin. His quick motion/release will add the much needed variety to this Jazz offense. We have too many standstill shooters on this team that rely heavily on others to create for them. Thomas is a guy constantly on the move or cutting to find his own shot. Could be our own Duncan Robinson or Davis Bertans.

If we keep him for a while I could see him getting minutes down the road but there's no way he cracks the rotation this season. He should be able to step in and play some minutes if we have injuries.

I don't think so ... likely going to re-sign him or sign and trade in the offseason.

Strange though... would have thought Miami would pay up for him or maybe Philly. Just thankful he isn't a Laker.

There's no such thing as garbage time. In a game where we're up 40 to players you've never heard of, Quin still finds <4 minutes for the bench guys.

The Bulls totally blew up their roster, Orlando is in full tank mode, the Wiz traded one pining first round pick Troy Brown for another Chandler Hutchison, Rodney Hood got traded to the Raptors, George Hill to the Sixers and Tony Bradley to OKC.

Jazz schedule is real soft coming up. Our starters are going to get less minutes on average going forward.

Yes... I was more speaking to the trades and contracts he hands out... seems sloppy around the edges or that he doesn't negotiate hard enough... like could we have gotten this deal (that they needed to do) for just cash... the GS second is a pick in the 40s which isn't too bad, but we also don't have any second rounders for infinity at this point.

Just always seems to give like 30% too much and in any one deal its not an issue but it slowly adds up.

Perhaps they feel they have enough young guys developing on the bench. It doesn't bother me to use the seconds so much but I get more upset about not addressing our needs. Thomas might help but what about getting more length and athleticism on the wing. What does it say about the coaches confidence in the guys they have drafted in the 2nd round because none of them are getting minutes except for Oni and he barely does. Morgan hasn't seen any primetime minutes nor does Brantley. So trading the seconds are not that big of a deal if we are not even playing the ones we have. I was hoping Hughes was going to step up but now it is obvious he isn't in the immediate plans. Where is this Thomas guy going to get minutes?
