Buyout market

The Kings waived Jabari Parker and a guy they just acquired from the Clips that was a college teammate of Trent Forrest's at Florida State and a late first round pick last year. Parker and Tony Finau are cousins.

I kind of wish we could take a flyer on Parker, but he has just been such a huge disappointment. And he just doesn't have jazz DNA, especially with his comments about defense, which is EXACTLY what we need from what his role with us would be. But man there is just so much potential there. Can't help but think if he gets into the right situation he'll break out, like Wiggins has with the warriors. Tough one.

Honestly the NBA is like the WWE all free agents go to Brooklyn, Lal or lac and sometimes Milwaukee such bs

The buyout market is always going to favor teams with stars over deep teams. It's less small market vs big market than yall make it out to be.

Hate to admit it, but couple of weeks ago (pre Ersan & Thomas signings) I was thinking that if we didn't get anyone else, Jabari would be a good flyer. Can't see it now, but my reasoning then was that Jabari might give us something we don't currently have.

He's exactly the size we're pining for (though his actual defense is terrible, admittedly). And he gives us the kind of offensive option that we don't really possess , one that could be useful in playoff situations when teams load up to stop what we do well. His shot chart from last year is interesting. Everything in the key is above average. Everything outside the key is below average. He remains one of the league's most frequent dunkers (esp. given that he's not a center). He can post up mismatches.

Alas, it's not going to happen (and with 17 players on board now is very hard to even try to justify.)

You're thinking of Mfiondu Kabengele. If Jabari Parker couldn't get minutes in Sacramento, I'm not sure how he'd get minutes here. I would have considered giving him a 10-day contract though, him and Glenn Robinson III.

Yes that's right. We don't have any room at the inn now for 10 days unless DL decides to start waiving guys.

Drummond's agent confirmed he's going to The Lakers - per Woj
****ing hell. I just love that we have a league where the teams that already have an unfair competitive advantage get an extra boost in talent at this point in the year.

What a waste of time.

Unless he completely changes who he is as a player, this might make them worse. Drummond sucks.

I think the main story with the Lakers is Anthony Davis. The "calf strain" he's dealing with is the same injury that's kept Kevin Love out all season and Dante Exum out for the past 3 months. At this point, Davis isn't putting much pressure on his calf. He's not doing much real running or cutting, and he's not close to being cleared for contact.

That "calf strain" often involves the achillies tendon which takes a long time to heal because of a lack of blood flow to the area.
