Do not diss Joe Ingles. When did the Australian national team actually have a critical game. hehehe..Is soft and has a long history of disappearing in critical games for the Australian national team. This is a problem. Discuss

He needs to get into it with somene and feed off the energy of trash talking.
I dont recall, but when Brooks was going off, was Ingles ever on him? It seems like Brooks should be the kind of guy Ingles can guard effectively and that matchup would be a lot of fun from a trash-talk perspective.
I think I'd actually like to see Joe on Ja a bit... he slides into position and he can sag off him and dare him to shoot a bit. Joe sometimes struggles with guys that are more physical... I'd like to see Royce on Brooks as I think its the type of guy he can guard well...He needs to get into it with somene and feed off the energy of trash talking.

You know who was pretty good I thought? NIANG... he got into him a little and made him work... he still hit a contested fade away but Niang played him about as close as you can. Niang has the girth to deal with the contact too.
Yup we are only one game in and I went to Niang as our possible perimeter defensive stopper. I really wish we had kept Shaq and played him over Oni... he's done some good spot defensive work on Dame. Oni has been a huge disappointment based on how the front office was pitching him to us this season. He's worth keeping around but we still need a do-**** hustle player... even a guy like Alize Johnson or David Nwaba who can't really shoot it much would add some spark/fire. Once DM is back there are no minutes for for Oni and Niang is better than all of those options... so I kinda get it... but why not use the Matt Thomas second rounder to get a good situational guy that might fill in when we need that type of dude. Torrey Craig is another guy I'd like.
Ehh, pretty Joe is on record that Ja is one of his least favorite players to guard. He said on the Duncan Robinson podcast that he thinks he struggles to guard guys like Fox and Morant.I think I'd actually like to see Joe on Ja a bit... he slides into position and he can sag off him and dare him to shoot a bit. Shaqs physical disruptive defense is kinda perfect for the playoffs. I understood the deal until we burned a second to get the poor mans version of Wayne Ellington. Would have been better to hold onto Shaq but I doubt he would have ever been given an opportunity here unfortunately. When Spence and Tony tweeted about Shaq I thought of you.
Prolly true. It’s tough to get to that matchup anyway. Curious to see how we line up tonight with our starting lineup now in tact.Ehh, pretty Joe is on record that Ja is one of his least favorite players to guard. He is getting spot minutes and doing well. Played great defense on dame... did you watch? No way in hell Shaq could play in the playoffs. He's not even getting minutes on the team he's a good fit for.
He got minutes in a blowout. Zero minutes in game 1.He is getting spot minutes and doing well. Played great defense on dame... did you watch?

Jazz have Forrest, who is better in every aspect to Shaq. If they get that desperate, they have an option.
But they won't. They are fine.
Exum would have gotten an additional 18 months of grace for something like this:
I'd like to see anyone guarding Morant go under the screen. Not sure why we kept going over on a fast guard that can't shoot.I think I'd actually like to see Joe on Ja a bit... he slides into position and he can sag off him and dare him to shoot a bit. Rehabilitation, execution... what's the difference?you mean that they couldn't be bothered executing
See this is a problem. Even if it's true someone with a champion mind-set says "**** it, I'll knock they *** down".Ehh, pretty Joe is on record that Ja is one of his least favorite players to guard. He said on the Duncan Robinson podcast that he thinks he struggles to guard guys like Fox and Morant.
