KAWHI TO MISS GAME 5

Yeah, no **** sherlock.

The players need to be protected from themselves and someone needs to lookout for the quality of the product.
The people financially hit most by a compressed schedule are the players, because they're the only ones in this enterprise who don't have long-term skin in the game. This is the same issue with every lockout. The people who have "more time in the market," so to speak, are the owners, agents, and essentially everyone else. If I were a player, I have only limited time to make money. I don't shorten the season if I'm in their shoes.

The players had plenty of time to rest. There are so many guys who have gone from playoffs to international competition to the next season. Quit making something out of nothing.

The game is played at such a pace now with so much explosiveness that injuries are always going to be part of the equation regardless of the summer rest.

Maybe if the Clippers weren't terrified of the Lakers and didn't cowardly tank the end of the season to draw a 7 game series against the Mavs instead of a 4 game series against the Blazers, Kawhi might have been fine.

The butterfly effect?

Fun fact: ain't no such thing as flushable wipes, but there's not a federal law against advertising them as such. They wreck sewer systems.
I mean I flush the toilet and they disappear.

Point taken, though.

How on Earth is a Game 5 while the series tied 2-2 a "classic trap game"?
Seeing how you started this thread in guessing you know Kawhi is out. You don't think there's the propensity for the team to maybe get a little lackadaisical thinking now they can walk right through these guys? I know some of fan base feels that way. We lose this one the pressure mounts on a team that doesn't always respond so well to pressure.

No, I would expect the opposite.

Now the Jazz really need to wrap this up in six. If they do, the WCF will start Sunday and Paul will be out for at least the first three games, maybe four (assuming it's 12 days from today, that would put his return at the 28th).

Hypothetical WCF schedule:

Game 1: 6/20
Game 2: 6/22
Game 3: 6/24
Game 4: 6/26
Game 5: 6/28

Jazz could potentially get four games vs the Suns without Paul - if they end this series in six.

Wow, this is not the news I expected to read when I logged on today. Huge opportunity for us to take control of this series.
