Jazz Offseason Plan

When local media is already pivoting to “well you have a 3 year window here” routine, there’s noise out there, and it’s getting louder.
They aren't saying he's automatically leaving.

They are saying we need to do something the next 3 years or he could leave.

Those two things above are two completely different things.

I would be willing to buy low on Justise Winslow. Seems like he's got a pretty decent over all skill set. Just something isn't right. Maybe we could fix him.
Winslow just hasn't been able to stay healthy, he flashed potential in Miami. Plus there's a connection there cause his rookie season was Wade's last year with the team. He's not a great shooter but he's an athletic, versatile defender with some playmaking ability. I'd go hard after Dunn as well, he's young and a pest defensively. Sell both guys on the idea that they can get paid next summer if they help us get over the hump. And assuming we bring back Conley both he and Joe should be on load management so they will get plenty of minutes in the regular season.

I'd also love Otto Porter or Nic Batum with the MLE. Try to swing a trade of Favors, #30, and a future draft asset for Larry Nance Jr.

I like all three guys to a certain degree. I just like Winslow more. It seems like it's now or never for him - if he figures it out, he'd be an incredible asset for us. He's a good defender, passer and rebounder. His entire package on offense is average, but he is a career 32%+ 3pt shooter. He would get wide open looks for us. He just turned 25.

I would sign him to a 3 year deal with the last year being a team option. Give him a little bit more than the minimum and hopefully he pans out.

I think Otto Porter Jr will be too much. Dunn interests me but I'm hesitant.

I'm interested in the two Summer League team concept. I'm wondering if Quin went to the powers that be and said our bench is horrible it has to be upgraded. So summer league could be like the Hunger Games with the survival of the fittest.

Favors and two 2nds for Muscala and dort. Saves us cash, gets us a bull dog and makes us more athletic while not taking away any shooting.

I like all three of the moves. Is Porter healthy besides doesn't he play the same position as Winslow. Batum can play multiple positions. Moving Favors opens up backup minutes for Udoka.
