I mean, none of those guys are huge misses for the Jazz. Maybe McDaniels/Hampton/Bane explode one day, but none of the other guys are really going to be misses we talk about 4 years from now.
Guys like Jaden Springer and Josh Christopher might be available at 30. That's pretty insane and both fit what the Jazz need out of a backcourt mate for Mitchell (in lieu of being able to grab a high level lead ball handler).
And I'm still holding out of hope for Elijah Hughes as Dennis Lindsey last masterstroke.
I think it's pretty safe to say Utah wont be drafting a traditional big this year.I'm a weirdo so I definitely do the "what if we had just taken Derrick White or Josh Hart?" I just thinking finding a guy that flashed something would greatly improve our situation... either by providing a cheap role player or by giving us a valuable trade chip. Udoka isn't worth much of anything in trade... Bane and McDaniels I think are worth more now than the pick was on draft night. Plus getting that guy in the pipeline and year further down the road would have been great given our tight timeframe. Like with Bane... last year maybe he's the 9th or 10th man for us but can move up further in the hierarchy because of performance. Udoka is still at square one.
I haven't really watched much college this year... the guys you mention are interesting I think Springer ends up closer to the lotto but that's purely based on mock draft nonsense. I'd be fine with either of those guys. We likely take Day'ron Sharpe or draft someone I like only to move back or out of the draft (putting a reverse jinx on this).
Is this suppose to be a flex?Well I wouldn't have traded for Conley so watch it Mr Know-It-All

So we trading a 20 ppg scorer to move up a few spots in a draft?
Jazz really can't afford to trade up. If they are trading Bogey, they need to extract all that value in player assets who can help them win now, not for a future guy (unless you are absolutely positive you're drafting your next Gobert/Mitchell).
Are you supposed to know what you're talking about? Is this suppose to be a flex?
Working out for the Jazz
"I wouldn't have added an all-star to our team for the cost of a couple of back end rotation players and late first round picks, and I would also trade one of our best players for Kyle Kuzma" is the strangest armchair GM flex
Seeing as I'm the original "Kuzma is a 1st round" pick before anyone had him mocked as a drafted player, yeah, I think I do.
You better hope like hell he comes back or gets us something in a trade. Because if he doesn't, you have zero authority to chastise people like you do around here.
If your bragging rights for Conley only rest on that career achievement all star appearance....

So the last time you were right about something was 4 years ago. Sounds about right.Seeing as I'm the original "Kuzma is a 1st round" pick before anyone had him mocked as a drafted player, yeah, I think I do.
Of course not, but the dude is pretty nasty for an undersized player. Has that pesky defense and shooting ability those guys need to get by, like a Jose Juan Barea or Campazzo. He better not be in first round consideration.
If he leaves or not, the process was sound. You put your chips in and play to win. The Jazz underpaid for an All-Star level player. You don't play to forever wait for the next year. The Jazz had their best shot since Stockton/Malone to win it all and injuries ****ed them hard. It sucks but it is what it is. To say they shouldnt have done the trade because of that is ludicrous. The only mistake is that they didnt do it sooner. You better hope like hell he comes back or gets us something in a trade. Because if he doesn't, you have zero authority to chastise people like you do around here.

The pick next year needs to be included there. There was also an opportunity cost with some of the cap space we could have cleared. The guys we sent out -- Grayson Allen, Jae Crowder, and the guys who could have been picked--Darius Bazley, Brandon Clarke, haven't done that much.
The Jazz overpaid for a player who wasn't All-Star level. We made him All-Star level. Without riding the coattails of Don and Rudy and a respectable career, he was never going to be an All-Star. So you can't say we paid that much for an All-Star level player. The Jazz underpaid for an All-Star level player.
I was also right about Conley coming back strong and having a monster year after you were capping to trade him for crumbs...So the last time you were right about something was 4 years ago. Sounds about right.
