Jazz Offseason Plan

I wish Hayward hadn't left here the way he did. He'd be great for what we need and this deal is possible. Just don't see how we do it with our history.
I'm over it. Not over it in terms of him doing something douche, I'll always think that. More over it in the sense that it's an "all hands on deck" situation and we've come this far and we have to make this work now. In that sense I'm willing to jettison sentimentality or, in this case, kinda the opposite. We just need to get better. I think he'd add an element for us and it would help with his rebounding. When he was put at the 4 in Boston he actually rebounding reasonably well (for him) and it would be a huge upgrade over Bojan in that regard. It would also help that he's familiar with us and Quin is familiar with him, so we don't get this whole season of talking about how he just needs to get used to Quin's machine.

It's like you said with Ainge. Ainge can say **** it to crap like the feel goods of a Favors return. Ainge would make a move to win and not a move for feel goods. This is a win move. I don't care about the feel goods. It will feel great when we hoist the Larry O'Brien.

I just hope it means we get a players trib piece called "Unfinished Business".

Not sure if anyone saw this yet but I'd be on board with 2 of these.

It's nice to see trade ideas that make sense for more than just one team. Even if the teams wouldn't actually do them, it's clear the author has tried to produce win/win situations.

Ben Anderson with an interesting take here — thinks moving Bogey is MORE likely if Conley STAYS. I had always thought in terms of a trade being more likely if Conley left, because we’d need to acquire a PG. Ben seems to think Ingles would play PG and we’d need to keep Bogey for his scoring.

The thought of Ingles as our primary PG seems disastrous to me, but what do I know?

Ingles at PG might be the worst idea I’ve heard this offseason.

If Conley leaves that is the fallback. It's really DM and Ingles at PG. That lineup has been great for a couple years now. We'd need a good, for-real, backup pg if this happens.

If Conley bails the options get pretty sucky.

I would do the second trade immediately. Turning Bogey into 2 serviceable players along with 13th pick who could be long-term piece or trading asset is pretty great.
