Jazz Preparing Conley Offer in Range of 75/3

I love Mike, but that’s a lot of money to tie up during Donovan’s prime. DL screwed the pooch, and now we have to pay the price.

DL went “all in” in a lazy *** way last year and it has screwed this team hard. Smith should’ve “promoted” him last year, added DWade in the offseason and promoted JZ sooner. Bet we’d be in a much different place right now.

This is a perfectly acceptable move in which we will have our full team for 2/3 of the year and maybe for a few games of the playoffs before we exit in the 2nd round.

Overpay to keep butts in the seats without taking the risks necessary to win the championship.

It is the (Jazz) way.

We are going the be the most fun winningest team to watch...in the regular season.

But we'll win a lot of games and sell a lot of tickets.

But hey it is market value. I'm so glad it's his market value. Boy it's a great thing it's his market value. Of course it's a terrible move tying up all our money to pay him his wonderful market value when we just drafted another small PG clone and will not have any flexibility to address our real problems.

But dat market value doe.

Healthy in the playoffs and it's all good. If not, well then any number wasn't good enough.
Hasn't happened yet in his career. But you know, aging vets with known chronic injury issues always have a health resurgence as they get older, right? Right?

Has anybody done any in depth statistical breakdown of...

Regular season games with Conley vs Regular season games without Conley

Postseason games with Conley vs Postseason games without Conley

Elimination Series games (Denver and Clippers only) with Conley vs ESG without Conley

I would love to see our offensive and defensive numbers in all that.

Propose what is better. Go ahead.

Conley will be perfectly tradeable a year from now if he's maintaining this level of production. This isnt an albatross deal in the slightest. It might be an overpay in the 3rd year, but I think he will uphold his value for these next two years.

Tony just said on radio that he's hearing a 2 year contract for Mike not a 3 year contract. I very much hope Tony is correct. He said the $25 million a year figure is correct, and he's very confident Mike is back.

I hope so.
I’m still of the mind that the Jazz should try to consolidate contracts/assets and get a third star closer to Rudy and Don’s timeline. If keeping Conley gets us closer to that, then it’s a no brainer.

The problem is Rudy's timeline is now, and Donovans is 2 through 5 years from now.
