2021 Free Agency

I’d like Olynyk but how much would he cost? Probably close to whole tax payer MLE. I’d want to play him at the 4 sometimes.

If so they should change that because if baseline rule is that you can trade a player within 15% and the reason you got the TPE is because you traded said player, you should be able to bring in within 15% someone on the TPE.

Also, if that’s the case, we should have let them keep the cash they sent us and instead include Thomas or Oni because pushing that TPE up by a million opens the doors or someone like Nance or Aminu.

It’s like cap space… it’s a hard number. Has to be under that amount. I believe each player would create their own trade exception in the example you gave… I don’t think they’d be aggregated.

What I mean is we could have traded Favors for Nance (cap wise). But instead we can trade Favors and get a TPE, but the TPE can’t get Nance. I think the TPE should be as functional cap-wise as the player that generated it would be.

We could have done it as a three way… I think they use Nance to get off Osmans deal and he sucks… so I don’t want him.

I will tell you what I tell my clients… I don’t care what the rules should be… I work with them as is. I literally had a prospective client get pissed off at me this week because he thought something should be the rule and kept telling me how disappointed he was… I was very close to telling him “ douchebag I don’t make the damn rules… do you think if i had that type of pull I’d be talking to your ***?”

The problem could also be rectified by including Matty Ice in the deal to OKC.
 
Someone tell me about Isaac Bonga. Is he a great defender or something? I see he’s 6’8” and apparently can play PG. Crazy foul rate.
