Jazz Offseason Plan

I think the plan now, after the dust has settled, should be to:

Sign Justise Winslow to a deal similar to Portis, Harkless, Craig. Something in the 2 years $8-9 million range. If he works out, he could learn to become our new Joe Ingles type player who can do a little bit of everything. If he doesn't, he's not going to be taking that much cap space next summer.

Sign Frank Ntilikina to minimum - we literally have nothing to lose here. He's friends with both Rudy and Don. He can play defense. He's young. He fills a needed roster spot.

Keep an eye out for a small ball center type.

PG Conley, Butler
SG Don, JC, Frank, Hughes
SF/PF Royce, Bojan, Joe, Winslow, Oni, Brantley
C Rudy, Doke, small ball C
Winslow at anything more than a minimum contract without the second year guaranteed would just be a mess to clean up next year.

In terms of talent, defense and overall ability, Winslow is worth the gamble.

For f sake, we are all in right? Go get the most talented player out there and pray he stays healthy. I mean, that's what we are already doing with Conley. If Winslow is healthy, he is more useful off the bench than almost any guy who signed for less than $10 million a year yesterday.

I think Winslow can be had for the minimum, and agree if he can put it together, that’s a great use of a roster spot.

For a min or cheap he would be a great deal, but I honestly doubt he wants to come back here.
He has alternatives? I mean, his net worth is at least 8x higher than it otherwise would be if it weren’t for us giving him that gratuitous contract. He’s played a grand total of 32 games in a uniform other than ours. Clarkson 110. You really think he says no?

I think he'll have a few offers. But, probably just one year offers.

It seems wherever we end up this offseason (but esp. if Joe is moved), we're going to look very different offensively than before.

Conley remains the primary ball-mover, and hopefully we'll remain good enough at ball/player movement, but we'll likely be seeing a lot more playmaking off one-on-one moves. Perhaps good for the playoffs, less good for the regular season?

Wonder what adjustments Quin will be making

Seriously lol, I’d love to get rid of this dude

Just gtfoh already.

Yeah, I was mostly joking.

People will hate to hear it, but I think he is undoubtedly better than Frank N or Miye.
If "breaking the paint" remains a high Jazz priority, then surely a healthy Exum is (unless injuries have robbed him of his speed). Too bad he's perpetually unhealthy.

I'm wondering if when Rudy and Rudy are both on the floor, it opens up Gobert more because the D can't just swarm him.
