Genuine question… now that we are 8 months into Biden’s presidency, what did Trump do policy wise that people hated so much?
I'm reframing this. I really like what Biden is doing. Trump isn't president anymore.
The Good:
Health Care: I like how Biden is defending the ACA, not trying to dismantle it. I never understood (other than racism and hatred of Obama) why Trump wanted to take away health care from people. So maintaining the ACA is good for me. Unlike some people, I don't think you should be ineligible for health care because you have pre-existing conditions or cannot afford health care.
The president is moving forward with the legal attack, even as some Republicans worry it will hurt the party's electoral prospects.

Covid Policy: I like the Biden administration's covid policy. It hasn't been perfect but it's been nice to see adequate testing and vaccine distribution. I'd like to see more mandates and greater vaccination distribution to African nations. It's also nice to not have a president make stupid suggestions, like injecting lysol or witholding valuable PPE because governors aren't kissing the ring.
The president prefers to be surrounded by sycophants.

I mean, Biden gave Florida aid while DeathSantis went on an anti-Biden pro-covid campaign tour. That would've never happened under Trump:

Children: I really like cutting childhood poverty in half.
President Biden has just signed into law a bill that fundamentally restructures the child tax credit: here's why that matters.

Infrastructure: Remember how this was an ongoing joke for four years? Trump always talked about infrastructure and because he has the attention span of a squirrel, always lost sight of "Infrastructure Week" by shutting down the government or having a meltdown calling Haiti a "******** country." I like passing trillions of new infrastructure. Anyone stuck in Salt Lake bottlenecks, seen our inversion, or is subjected to the crappy Comcast Internet knows how important updating our infrastructure is. The reconciliation bill which provides more money to combat climate change and raise taxes on the wealthy is very important also.
The approval came after months of negotiations and despite deficit concerns, reflecting an appetite in both parties for the long-awaited spending package.

Immigration/Asylum: I like not banning Muslims and I also believe strongly that we shouldn't be abusing children to scare people from seeking asylum here. Is the border situation perfect? No, but there's a huge difference between the system processing (slowly) asylum seekers and purposely creating a humanitarian crisis to scare people from coming here. Ultimately, this situation needs to be addressed by Congress by making it easier for people to legally immigrate here.
Conservative pundit Glenn Beck wrongly claimed on Twitter that President Joe Biden’s administration was doing the same t

Foreign Policy: Isn't it refreshing to have a President stand with our western allies and not kissing up to pigs like Putin and Kim? Isn't it nice to have a President who doesn't throw our IC under the bus in favor of Putin's lies?
The Bad:
Voting Rights: This should have been the administration's top priority after covid. They desperately need to get the Senate to blow the filibuster and pass voting rights. Otherwise, this will be a massive failure that could in the long-term damage our democracy. Biden said that Republican attacks on voting rights is our greatest threat since the Civil War... Well, his reaction to this threat certainly has been underwhelming.
Immigration: I think we need to make this a priority after voting rights. We need to pass the DREAM act and reform our immigration system.

Humanitarian Rights: Biden has been better than Trump with garbage like Kim and Putin. But that doesn't mean he couldn't do better. I don't believe in having low standards. I'd like to see Democrats really stand up for human rights. If that means going after Putin's money or ending our arms deals with the Saudis? Then so be it. Either we're for human rights and democracy or not. I'm tired of tiptoeing around human trash cans like Putin. **** Putin, Orban, Kim, etc.
I believe liberal democracy is worth fighting for:
What role do members of the cultural and media elite play in the ascent of nationalist rule? In her new book, Twilight of Democracy, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and historian Anne Applebaum examines the surrogates who enable autocracy. She discusses the patterns of weakening democracies...

In Poland and elsewhere, rulers—and the oligarchs who help them—have figured out how to create a one-party state without the hassle of staging a coup.

PS Notice the difference between what liberals and Trumpers stand for. We believe in actual issues. We believe in human rights. We're not merely "against" what the other side is doing. We're not merely focused on judges and #owninthecons. And probably most of all, we aren't afraid to call out our own. Think back to all the times any Republican on this entire board criticized Orange God King. You can probably count on one hand the number of times that happened.
