I've been thinking it's overdue but I hadn't considered the tax implications as well. That's even more motivation to do it.
Also, he's getting old, he'll turn 33 before the playoffs. It would be wise to cash in now.
I still think the tax implications could be a bigger deal than we think. IIRC, Locke mentioned that he doesn’t think the Jazz will pay the huge tax bill we are due for.
It’s tough to trade a player who is ,on the surface at least, one of the better players on your team when you’re going all in to win for money reasons…but I really think we can do both.
I don’t want to be the Bogey hater guy, but out of all our players I think he’s the one who’s reputation and contract exceeds his actual value the most.
