Rondo on the Jazz

I'm in. Rondo is awesome and has not hit his peak. This is one of the few exceptions I could think of to my general reluctance to part with assets right now. Not much I wouldn't give up for him. They can't have Hayward, Burks, Favors or Kanter but just about anything else is game. I would probably not want to give up Sap either.

I would love to see this team's effort with this guy at the wheel. Elite vet PG to run the show and see how fast we get good.

Whats his peak i wonder? If he didn't play with 3 great players around him who helped him all the way down, he wouldn't have been anything close to what he is right now.Not every point guard should be bibby, but he has a great weakness, he can't shoot, but still he will want to get paid a lot. I think he is a good player but i don't think he is what we need.
(P.S. He was good as he was the young talent guy around 3 vets, but it doesn't prove if he will be good as Vet around 3 young talents)

I still want to see what Harris can do in a full season with us.
He has had the ability to be explosive in the past. Can he find a way to fit in with us?
Can he stay healthy?

Whatever the case I think it's foolish to completely dismiss him now.

I'd take Rondo for Harris straight up in a heartbeat. Great distributor, great penetrator, and good to better defense, great facilitator of both up-tempo and half court game, just what we need to get our young guys involved and give them quality looks. Even with his offensive liabilities, he's among the premier point guards in the league, IMHO. And I'm not a Rondo fan, in fact, I really can't stand him, but he's a quality PG who, I think, would make Jazz a much better team.

That said, I don't think there's a snowflakes' chance in hell that we land him. Still . . .

I'd do it. I'd do it for sure. Hopefully Boston struggles this year and are looking for a shake-up at the trade deadline. Harris and Big Al for Rondo.

Unless of course Harris and Big Al do really well this year for us.

I agree with what most of you are saying and the next couple of drafts really do worry me to find a point guard, so if not Rondo what would you guys think of bringing Maynor back from the Thunder and having him take over the starting point guard role of the future?

I would love to see a big trade go down like this one... It would help all teams involved a bunch! Everyone pretty satisfied I would think!

Pacers Get: Rajon Rondo, Paul Millsap

Celts Get: Al Jefferson, Darren Collison

Jazz Get: Danny Granger, Celts First Round Pick, Pacers Second Round Pick

I believe Celts would have to throw in one more cheap piece to make the deal happen...

Pacers get both players they covet without giving up too much and would still leave us 15 mil under the cap... If we amnesty Posey, we will be about 22 Mil, under the cap.

Celts get back the big man they had to let go to get KG, and a very serviceable young starting PG which allows them to make one more good run for Paul and KG...

Utah gets the veteran All-Star SF they want, a first round pick, Clears about 12 Million off the books, and makes playing time room for their 2 young Bigs...

I would make either the Pacers or Celtics throw one more good player our way (or Pacer's 1st round instead of 2nd)

Yeah not good trade for us. Change Granger to Paul George and George Hill maybe.

This was long time ago, and he never proved he can play under pressure, he is not a reliable pg for me, he is not even a pg, he is something between pg and sg and we don't need him in our building process

I don't think he can make much more than Harris does for us, you know why the manager of boston wanna get rid of him, because he can't make the empty buckets so his defender close other gaps leaving him free to shot. That really destroys whole offense plan especially in playoffs. Rondo is just good, but he is not as good as people exaggarate
