Jazz plan to sign Danuel House

He's playing Trent who refuses to shoot and when he does it is bad bad.... so who knows. Also JC is at 31% and Quin has told him to LFF (let the "bad word" fly).
Agreed but DH wont be playing either of those roles. Your boy Shaq got no play because he couldn't stretch the floor.

He was decent years ago and is still young, why not? House has that profile of a player who can blend in and fit in here. I think if you played him instead of Forrest the team would perform better....but the same could be said about Oni. I'm an Oni guy, but there's really no point in keeping around a young player that a coach has lost faith in. If it were up to me I would have axed Dok first, but that was made more difficult because of our decision to pick up his option.

I expect we'll get to see him play because we'll have a bunch of covid absences. As I understand, the team didn't have to get tested unless they showed symptoms because they were all vaxxed. But now that Ingles popped they have to test everyday and there will be players that have covid and are aymptomatic. It'll be interested to see where he fits in the pecking order with Paschall and Hughes. If he gets the call ahead of them, I think that says a lot about where Quin sees those players.

There seems to be a sentiment that Quin is biased against young players and leans on "vets", but I don't really buy into t that. He's not different other coaches in that regard. Quin has empowered a lot of young players to come through the ranks, and I can't really think of too many times where a young player was being shafted because he was a young player.

It will be fun to see all the griping around here from those convinced that House should get a full-fledged tryout as THE MISSING PIECE for the Jazz while Quin treats him as a break-glass-only-in-case-of-emergency type of pickup.

A modicum of poor perimeter defense awareness would be nice.

I won't gripe... I don't see him as the missing piece. I see him as a guy we should take a look at and would support signing hm for the rest of the season as an insurance policy or as a way to rest other guys by having a reliable replacement to eat up the minutes. This is a much better use of a roster spot than keeping a guy that Quin will not use even in an emergency. If we are 100% healthy and don't use him then great.

Lance Stephenson just scored 20 pts in the first quarter... so who the effs knows... maybe some of these guys still have game and can be contributors. Maybe the apocalypse is happening?

I remember when Corbin was coach, the Jazz signed Kyle Weaver out of the GLeague and in one game he was the second leading scorer to Hayward and filled up the stat sheet with a lot of positive statistics and the next day was gone. I can't remember if DL or KOC was the GM then.

Quin’s track record of bringing guys up through the ranks is very good. Sometimes I wonder if people take a second to think about a bunch of the guys on our team and how they got to where they are. Don’t understand why he’s getting a rep for burying guys on the bench. Oh wait….it’s because every fan ever has wanted to ply the young guys more.

I’m sure someone will turn this into “NBA teams are never wrong blah blah blah xD”.
