Oni traded to Thunder

The Jazz have been making clown moves on the margins for years and the problems have been compounding. Do you think a 1st rounder and FIVE 2nd rounders might swing a trade? Cuz that’s what the Jazz have burned to offload Derrick Favors, Ed Davis, Tony Bradley, Rayjon Tucker, Miye Oni, and to trade for one of the worst NBA players I have ever seen in just the last two years. This ignores the debacle of drafting Udoka and the inevitable 2nd they’ll use to dump him next year when they could’ve not picked up his option. I’m not sure they needed to pick up Oni’s either.

These things add up. Being that the organization isn’t a luxury market and the hole they’ve dug themselves into, they especially cannot be continuing to mismanage and hemorrhage assets.

Yep. These debacles are why the jazz cant even field a winning team and are always missing the playoffs. Teams like the timberwolves and kings would never make these kinds of mistakes and thats why they always win all the championships.

My guess is that fans of all teams find plenty to criticize about their front office as well. Like i bet the front office of every team does things that fans dont like. It sucks that the jazz cant do everything exactly the way that each one of their fans want them to.

But hey, at least we got rid of oni and we have a really good team. As for the second round pick, i bet there are ways to acquire those if the jazz want to. Might even be able to buy one in the future if they want.

And the Jazz are not trading Conley this year. He is the best decision maker and best ball handler at the end of close games and the biggest stabilizer in general. You cant replace that with a trade.
 
I assume Oni went with the team on this road trip. Did he have to fly commercial to get back to SLC or to report to OKC and be waived? It seems like just getting his belongings could have been a pain.

Ainge had Baileys relocate his belongings after he left and before the trade was official.

It's not like he expects to stay in OKC, so I'm guessing he brought his toothbrush and hopped over (or reported via webex).

I thought that when a trade was made the player had to pass a physical with the new team even if they were just going to waive him. It seems to me the Jazz had to do that with derrick Rose a few years ago.

I thought perhaps the physical could be waived by the team, but in any case I don't think he expects to stay longer than a few days.
